    I've got an older Sager NP7330 / Clevo W230ST with a 13" FHD 1920x1080 display.

Recently, the left half of the display quit working properly. It's exacly half the display too. It's a little fuzzy, and there is a bit of a refresh problem. There are ghosted bits of previous displayed stuff showing up. Here are some pictures of it:

This last picture shows the ghosting I'm talking about. The screen was black while loading a game, but there are parts of my normal desktop still on the screen.

I've connected the laptop to my TV using the HDMI port, and there is no problem, so it's definitly a problem with the display, and not the display adapter. I've checked the display cable connections, and they are fully seated, and there are no obvious problems with the cable or the display.

Any ideas whether this is a display failure, or a cable failure? The obvious choice is to replace the cable first, as it should be cheaper, except I'm having a hard time finding a reasonable price for one.

rjtech has one for $40USD, but then they want another $40USD for shipping, and after exchange, I'm over $100CDN just for the cable.
aliexpress has one for ~$70CDN with free shipping, but they're not exaclty trustworthy, and the shipping takes forever.

The display is easier. laptopscreen.com has a new display for $90CDN that ships from Canada and shipping is $10CDN. It seems nuts that I can get the display shipped to me cheaper than the cable!!

The other alternative would be to upgrade the display. I've read here that if I bought the higher resolution screen from the W230SS and the cable, it would work with my system. The only problem with that is the fact that I can't find anyone selling the 2560x1440 display, or the required WQHD cable.

Any recommendations on which I should replace first, and where I should buy them from?

Almost certainly the LCD itself and not the cable. Since you're in a tight spot with having to pay to send something back, you might be better off biting the bullet by purchasing the screen and the cable, to be safe.

What about Eurocom? Or Reflex Notebooks?
