Hello, my computer display can't wake after sleep. The hard drive wakes, the fans wake, but the screen stays black. Things i already tried: changing the power options, powercfg -h off then on in the cmd. No options in the bios that i can see that would help. Pressing all the buttons on the keyboard doesn't wake the display either. Screaming at the screen does nothing either.

Using latest nvidia drivers and windows is up to date. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Do you see back-light? I've never torn apart your particular Sager, but if possible, you may want to try removing the battery, the CMOS battery, and holding down the power button for 30 seconds. Be sure it is also unplugged. Then put everything back in and start the computer.

Just tried the battery removal, still the same. I don't see back light after sleep. It's strange, when the display turns off by itself via power option, the display can come back just moving the mouse. However, when i put the computer to sleep is when the display doesn't wake.

I did have to modify the nvidia driver to make it install would that have any affect on this issue?

Is this in regards to the 8170 in your signature - and if so, are you still running Windows 7 on it? Or did you "upgrade" to 10?

    Could be a firmware bug.

Can you reach out to your reseller for the latest BIOS & EC? Even if you're up to date, reflashing might work this out (just be warned: flashing is risky).

It wouldn't hurt to check in with them. I don't know that what you picked up was the latest release, but Sager may be able to.
