I could not find any write ups or reviews on differences in screens associated with my new laptop. Just says an FHD 120HZ. LED? OLED? And compared to my almost 10 year old NP 5160, will the video be 10 years better? As a figure of speech..
I know the video cards are quite different, GT540M vs 1650ti..
Thoughts?

Different resellers can opt for different panels. Notebook check often reviews some examples.

Thnx, Both of mine were through XoticPC. Didnt realize there were options at the build facilities.

FHD just means 1080p... standard is 60hz / TN or IPS
Unless you select an upgrade don't count on it being a decent panel.
Just pick the cheapest option and upgrade the panel to your personal requirements after you get it as you will pay a premium to have the OEM insert the better panel. -
No option was available. It is what it is then.. I am not going to ruin a new laptop for a better screen, until its out of warranty... Lesson learned.

No, you buy a new laptop for the core options to improve your experience.
When I'm looking at them it's about the CPU / GPU as everything else can be swapped out for better options. If I can bump the CPU a couple of gens along with the GPU for under a grand and then swap the screen for $150 then it's worthwhile. Some look for the ability to get the next RTX card for gaming performance and then swap the screen to something better. It's all about value depending on priorities.Steve40th likes this. -

There are not many TN panels around at least.
Display differences... Sager NP5160 vs NH58DBQ
