    Might be a stupid question . . .

Do RTX 2080 Super MXM 3.1 cards exist? And if so where can I buy one?

I've found a few references to their existence but can't find anything definitive. Eurocom and RJtech only have RTX 2080 (non-super) cards . . .

Yeah the 2080S were quite scarce. And even if you managed to find them in stock, the SI would often not sell them as stand alone cards, which was a bummer.

Odd time to be looking for a top end card.

Mainly trying to figure out what options there are. Mobile 3000 series looks to be underwhelming compared to a 200W RTX 2080 S. Compatibility and pricing are unknown and not guaranteed either.

Clevo RTX 2080's are MXM 3.1. What is MXM 4.0 - never heard of it. Is a 4.0 card backwards compatible in a 3.1 slot?

Sounds like a custom name for the new design clevo cards. Not really a standards thing.

I'm more interested in if there is a difference in pinout/protocol between 3.1 and 4.0. But as Meaker said, it's almost certainly MXM 3.1 standard . . . considering the laptops it was sold in.

The card will physically fit in a P870TM1 so, I'm not worried about that. It's all moot though if there's not place to actually buy one from.

I found some Quadro RTX 5000 MXM cards on eBay, not sure if those work.

All of the larger cards have been electrically the same on the motherboard connector.

Well when 3080 cards are released I'll be selling my 2080s card. Look out for it in march.

It is generally not a bad time to pick up a card.
