I may be at work on Thursday when my 9262 finally gets here, and I don't want to wait another day for it. I used the standard 3-6 day shipping, but I didn't see anything about signature confirmation. Can I just leave a note stating where to put it, or is there a printable form like Fedex? Thanks.

    You'll have to sign.
I don't think anyone is going to ship something expensive without requiring proof of delivery :)

Of course, if FedEx/UPS/DHL/whatever doesn't ask for the signature, that's their problem. But if you then claim you didn't receive your notebook, they're in trouble ^^

So is there any way I can sign for it before it arrives? I.E. leave a note that says "leave package in garage. Thanks. *signature*" Or does UPS have a printable page I can download?

The UPS webpage regarding deliveries and preemptive signatures is here. Based on a quick glance (I'm not going to do all of your research for free :D ), it looks like you have to leave a presigned note with a neighbor, otherwise you have to wait until you get the InfoNotice that you can sign requesting drop-off without another signature.

Another alternative (I would think) is to arrange to pick the package up at the local UPS warehouse where it's being held (obviously, on the day of delivery, it'll be on the truck; however, once the driver fails to deliver it and returns to base at the end of the day, it should be in the warehouse - from there you should be able to pick it up).

Ah, thanks a bunch. I couldn't find that anywhere. I guess I'll try leaving a signed note saying where to leave it.

I confirmed with both xoticpc and UPS - and I DID have to sign....however, if you call your local UPS and tell them to hold it for you - you can pick it up there at the beginning/end of the day...thats what I did :)
