First of all, I owned a G73 in the past and I really liked the rubberized finish. I hear that the NP8150 has that, while the NP8170 has a metallic finish, correct?
I was leaning towards the NP8170 because of the larger screen, supposedly better performance, and extra hard drive bay. However, after reading a few threads on here, I learned that the 8150 has a better screen, especially if you go with the 95% Gamut Matte screen.
Since I want to game, and since I'll be gaming/working in brighter areas sometimes, would I want a Matte screen in the first place? Also, I was planning on getting the 8170 with the 2720QM Processor until I read that for gaming, it won't do much difference. Might as well get the stock processor and spend the money on a better video card or an SSD.
So some tips about the video card would be nice as well. I was definitely going to go with the 485, but if I get the stock processor, I can use the extra money to bump it up to a 580M. Is this advisable?
And if I intend on having a blu-ray disc drive, an SSD drive as my main, and then an HDD drive as my storage drive for pictures/movies/music/non-vital applications, the 8170 would be the best bet, right? With a 90% Gamut Matte screen?

It may help if you check out this thread here:

I see no real reason to get the 170 over the 150. If the keyboard was larger/better, I would understand.

the only difference between the 2 machines that i know of are is that the p150hm has a rubberized finish and has 1 hd bay, 95% gamut upgrade. the 17in has 2 hd bays, metal finish... maybe metal case I'm not too sure correct me if wrong, and 3d. so there is no difference in performance unless u get sli or cf. the 2720 is a good upgrade as it allows u to get faster ram, and if im not mistaken only 2 cores are working when playing a game so the increase in ghz should help... again correct me if wrong im just learning this stuff. also it seems like the difference between the 485 and 580 is small, however there is an extreme oc thread and there are some incredible results. your best bet would be go for 6990 as its the best bang for buck and it looks like it will beat the gtx 580m.

I won't be moving mine a bunch and for 1080p gaming the extra 2 inches make all the difference (that's what she said). If I were a student I would get the 15 incher. (dang, that's what she said again).
Sorry was on a "The Office" bender last night.
Do I want a Sager NP8150 or NP8170?
