Do Sager/Clevo LCD screens ever "buzz" when brightness is lowered?

I bought a Lenovo y510p a few months ago but had to return it due to a very odd problem: Whenever I put the brightness of the screen below 100%, the screen (in one spot of the lower left corner) would emit a buzzing noise. The lower the brightness went, the louder the buzz.

I wasn't the only one with this problem as I got a private message from someone claiming the same thing. It also seems to be a semi-common problem with LCD/LED displays in general.

Has anyone ever noticed this on their Sager/Clevo laptops?

This can happen since I believe it is part of the panel electronics rather than the machine, but it's not something you tend to hear about.

We've haven't had any call-ins about a humming or buzzing from the screen. It can crop up on any machine, albeit rarely. I'm not sure what screen manufacturer Lenovo used for your particular laptop at the time, but I'd wager your odds of encountering this again are very slim.

It wasn't the screen buzzing, it was a magnetic field inducing noise into the speaker, you had a non-properly shielded LCD data cable. We've seen that before, simple swap of the LCD Data cable and bang away it went just fine.

Hey mythlogic, was this unsheilded LCD Data cable you're talking about put into the laptop by Lenovo or was it from the manufacturer of the display (LG, AOU, etc)? Basically who was "responsible" for the buzzing screen?

    Thanks

The cable is from the machine manufacturer.
