Do any sager/clevo resellers offer a student discount on top of a cash discount?

I'm looking at dropping about $2,000 on a notebook in the next couple days and looking at all the various sager/clevo resellers available (so many to choose from  ). I'm wondering if any offer a student discount on top of a cash discounted price.

Yes and no. Some let you combine the two, but from what I've seen they all max out at 5% discount. Most don't even offer a student discount.

Really though, you shouldn't nickel and dime the resellers. These guys work on little to no margins and provide awesome expertise. I didn't bother trying to find the guy that'd give me an extra 1% off when Malibal gave me stunningly awesome service (which I'm sure is true with everyone else's cases). Mythlogic is another where people pay the slight premium for the quality control and service.

That said, I think 5% is the most you'll get off anywhere as a combined discount. That's the highest I saw when shopping around.

Thanks Epsilon. I'm still looking around. I wasn't trying to nickel and dime the resellers at all. I had just narrowed them down to a select few based on the good ratings from resellerratings.com so naturally my next step would be to see if I could save an additional few bucks.

Sorry, I didn't mean to imply you were. There are a lot of people on the forums that complain that x costs too much money from one reseller when y store sells it cheaper (but they don't want to do it themselves).

I think you'll get better offers for student discounts once it gets closer to back to school time. Some places like xotic pc change what their student discount applies to. when i was looking a few months back it was a discount on external HDs, mice, and coolers.. i'd imagine that it switches to laptops closer to school starting

Powernotebooks.com offers cash discount and student discount on certain models of laptops. NP8130 and NP8150 are one of them. Check them out. They have excellent customer service and ratings on resellerratings.com
