A lot of laptops today have locking mechanisms to keep the laptop from accidentally opening and getting damaged, etc. When I look through the galleries of different sager products, it looks like there isn't any at all. Do sager laptops have locking switches?

Does the 2098 have one too?

The NP8662 doesn't, the screen is held shut by the hinges. I don't think the 2098 has them either.

But the hinges do provide enough pressure that the lid shouldn't open unless it is meant to.

So if I put the laptop in a laptop backpack or carrying case, there's no way of it opening?

The strong hinge retention as well as the backpack or case will keep the laptop lid closed. There is no way for the laptop lid to open inside your bag, and there has never been an instance of this happening in the history of carrying laptops.

I think the 9 cell battery of the 2096 sticks out(like in the video), but since the 2098 is using a 6 cell, I don't think it sticks out. Can any 2098 confirm this?

That's correct. The six cell batteries are flush with the system while the nine cell batteries will protrude.
