I ordered my sager np9260 from the UAE through the sager website and I emailed their sales team regarding the payment method. After id say 2 hours a guy named Brian Liaw responded back saying that the only payment option for me would be the wire transfer, at first I was ok with it since I was keeping alienware as my second option and they had recommended the wire transfer too. So i go and order the laptop and I tell this Brian Liaw guy my order no. that I got from the website and I tell him to retrieve the details and tell me how much would it cost to ship internationally. At first I was very much convinced with all the emails this guy sent to me but then he emailed me saying that the processor I had chosen for my configuration had a back order of around 2-4 weeks and he would recommend me the quad core 2.66 Ghz processor if I want the order to be processed and shipped in a matter of days. Now the email he sent me saying all this was a bit wierd. I have posted it below which says.
"Hi Yasir, How are you! Thanks very much fro your reply, here is the revise order for the CPU processor change and I believe this Q6700 2.66GHz CPU Processor will give you very impress performance and it is not slower than X6800 Extreme on some programs!
This CPU process is US$600.00 less cost; now your final price become US$4,304.00
We should have this one ready and ship in 2-3 days; so, please go ahead to process your wire-transfer and when we got it from our bank and your order will be ship at the same time!
Thanks"
Now the problem with this is, the guy cant even type proper english which made me a little suspicious I mean the guy is representing the sales department of a reputable company, if he cant write proper english then who can. Well i still ignored this and went ahead and asked him to send me the bank details for the wire transfer. Now here things got real dodgy. I have attached the file to be viewed. Now clearly for a notebook company I think the document should be a little more in detail whereas the one this guy sent to me just looks like he typed it himself and pasted the sager logo from their website which is not in a good quality too and sent it to me. Now I have delayed the order by saying that there is a problem with the bank here transferring the funds through wire transfer. I just wanted to ask if some one here knows or thinks whether should I go ahead and give this guy $4300 dollars because this looks like a fake to me.
Another check that i did was that i emailed the sager sales team from an annonymous email id and i asked for the bank details for the wire transfer. That was 3 days ago and i still havent received a reply from them. Whereas this guy replied to all the emails between 15-30 minutes. So please advise as of what should I do. Thankyou

I just dealt with Brian yesterday, and he has been great. I spoke to him several times, to confirm that my order was on correct and to confirm some credit card issues (AMEX's fault not Sager's).
English is definately not his first language, but he speaks it well. He speaks with a distinct chinese/taiwanese accent. If you are able to call the sager 1-800 number and speak to him yourself to try and aleve any of your concerns. Whenever I called, if he was on the other line he would call me back in minutes even after I had placed my order. He even called me yesterday to let me know my order had shipped (In the timeframe he had estimated before I had even placed my order).
I have dealt with Sager several times over the past 10 years, buying at least 5 laptops and recommending at least 3 of my friends and colleagues to buy from them, with no regrets.
So, I trusted him, but you need to do what you feel is correct, it is your money, afterall.
Hope this helps. -
do not worry about dealing with sager. as the above poster said they do not speak the best english. i had a issue with my keyboard on my 5791 and they simply sent me out a new keyboard no questions asked, i would say they are prob one of the best notebook companies i have dealt with.

thanks for the advice....one more thing i wanted to ask that do they replace hardware components in case a new model arrives like the video cards n processors?
-
they have offered upgrades in the past for things like motherboards etc. but they are not free and the unit would have to be shipped back to them for these to be done. the video card depending on the model you are looking at may be able to be done by you but again you must buy a new one.
also if you feel more comfortable there are companies like xotic pc and powernotebooks that may ship to you. they are usually actually cheaper than buying from sager directly -
English seems to be their only weakness. Apart from that they served me well and very fast. Go ahead!
-
I always recommend to get a Sager through a reseller (like Powernotebooks or XoticPC), which will deal with you better for sales and services... while letting Sager be the hardware supporter.

I agree with all of the people here. Brian is great, Sager is great, but English is their second language.
When you simply send an email asking for their bank details because you want to send a wire, but that request is not tied to any order, they (nor most anyone) would NOT reply to that. Fraudsters try that trick several times a week.
Unfortunately PowerNotebooks.com only ships to US addresses (including APO addresses). At this point I would recommend sticking with Sager for an international shipment. -
as ive already stated try xotic pc i am almost positive they ship outside of the us
Dodgy Sales Rep??!?!?!?
