    Does 5790 Support SATA300?

    I talked to a XoticPC rep and he said the NP5790 doesn't support SATA300, only SATA150. Is that true? Thanks

    considering its the only configuration availible on any site for that model, I would assume that he wasnt lying to you....maybe they previously supported it but had issues, who knows

    its does not matter, no mobile harddrive has even yet to take advantage of the SATA 150MB/s.... let alone the SATA 300MB/s.

    Even most desktop HDDs have yet to utilize the SATA 1 or SATA 2.... especially if there are just 7200rpm.

    Only the Western Digital Raptor (10k rpm) and SCSI's have any chance of utilizing that kind of transfer speed.

    So you should not use this as a factor in purchasing a notebook or not.
