Does Sager package the Windows 7 installation CD if you don't get an ODD?

Probably a silly question, I know, but it's worth asking while I'm here hunting for good sturdy 4GB flash drives to house the Windows IS). Do they include the disc, nothing, or a cheap USB drive for ODD free machines?

You should always get a Drivers/Utilities disc and will include a Windows disc if you order Windows with your configuration

You'll always get a copy of the disk if you ordered the Windows install. Seeing as you're looking for a 4GB flash drive, it sounds like you're aware of the Windows flash drive installer:

    Microsoft Store Online

I think Microsoft has suggested that Windows 8 will be shipped via flash drive as an option, which would be great since optical drives are falling out of fashion (not to mention the speed boost with flash).

Yeah, you sent me that link back when I was debating leaving the ODD out, which is how I came to know about it. I should have updated that topic in retrospect but I couldn't find it again.

As of now I'm looking into sturdy, USB 3.0 drives that aren't packed with shovelware (although I can get rid of that anyways). There's a series of key-shaped drives by a company called laCie that I thought was really cool, but they're 2.0. I hope that even matters, since Windows 7 didn't have native 3.0 support and might not even register at 3.0 speeds when booting or installing from the drive. If it doesn't I can scratch that priority

8 certainly should though. I think they're hoping for 3.0 to be native to the OS.

Yeah, unfortunately USB 3.0 wouldn't even matter. Windows 7 doesn't install the 3.0 drivers when you're installing so it wouldn't even see the disk there. You're limited to 2.0 ports for the install.

All you really need is the sticker on the bottom with they key. But remember to plug the usb drive into the correct port. Don't use one of the USB 3.0 ports.
