Does anybody know of a repair shop in northeastern MA that can work on Sager laptops?

My NP8150 has started sparking and getting hot around the DC jack when I plug it in so I am fairly certain that I need a new DC Jack (I have stopped using it at this point since I can not charge it). I can get a new DC jack on the web for about $3.50 but I cannot do the soldering. I originally brought my laptop to FamilyPC in Danvers but they did not seem to know their way around a high performance gaming machine and were barely able to put it back together after failing to diagnose the problem (at $38.00).

I really do not want to send my laptop across the country to be fixed by Sager in California. Does anybody know of a shop or technician in Northeastern Massachusetts that would be able to install a new DC jack for me?

    -Cheers.

Sorry, I think Sager does not support 3rd party repair center.

If all you need is a new jack, anybody able to solder could it. It's really simple. If there are any internal problems, you may have no option but sending it back to Sager.

It's not that bad. 3 days there, 2 days repair time, 3 days back. I think their shipping includes Saturdays.

Thanks for the reply guys. I am fairly certain that it is just a simple solder job to replace the jack that is needed. I suspect Sager would take longer to fix mine since it is out of warranty (The problem arose two days after my warranty expired). But it looks like there is no local option available so I will ship it out to Sager.

    Cheers.

Since you are out of warranty, I am sure there is a local computer repair shop that you can take it to. I guess it depends on your town. :)
