Does anyone still have/want the old D900Fs?

I was just wondering, are those things still in demand? I have one still, the one in my description, but I've always thought about selling and getting one with a mobile CPU in it. You all think anyone would still want one of these? It's just speculation at this point and I hope I'm not breaking any rules by making this thread here.

I'm *NOT* making a sale, just wondering if you all think it's sellable.

I would think so. You'd be surprised at the used PC/laptop market.

Edit: cleanliness, scratches, etc also are very important.

Oddly enough, I have an interested buyer in my D900F barebones kit right now. The only problem with the D900Fs is that they don't support the newest cards. But they are still a good chance for a budget mobile desktop.

I always keep it clean, and the only "scratches" as such were obtained where the lid touches the flat area just south of the touchpad when you close the lid down. It's pretty much unavoidable. The keyboard might not be completely clean, but I can definitely work on it if anything, and I keep the inside very clean; I clean it out at least once a month.

It's good to know it still has a market for it, my country is really technologically backward, and people are often extremely cheap... so I wanted to check here and see if it's still a force to be reckoned with =3

That's one of the problems I had actually, they discontinued it after the 480m came out. I know this can support the 480m, but 470/460/485 would be out of the question. What I originally got the machine for was the CPU power, but the mobile CPUs are now pretty strong, and would give me better use on battery. If I had the cash I'd run this as a server and get the P170M (I think that's the name). But when the time comes I'll probably need to sell this XD

Sadly, it wasn't a very upgradeable laptop, if that concept does really exist.

Well of course the concept exists, we're just in a technological boon right now, and Clevo wanted a successor to it. The only difference, of course, being that their new model had two USB 3.0 ports and SLI capabilities.
Those old lappys that shipped with 8800M cards had people swapping em out for GTX 260Ms; the 280M and later were MXM 3.0b only I think; so there stopped those upgrades. If I could make/get a BIOS for this that'd let me install a 485M I'd be in heaven =D

Honestly, the D900F was one of the most upgradable laptops in it's lifetime. Starting with the i7-920 upto the 990x. From GTX9800 (iirc) up to the 480M/5870M, they had a great lifetime. Triple channel RAM. Expresscard slot.

Infact, it's still amazing if all you need is a mobile server. No need for a powerful video card.

I got it to do certain things that required great CPU power (programming, video rendering, animation, etc), and it's served me bloody well on those counts, but I'm a hardcore gamer too, I'd love a 485m in it. Don't get me wrong, my 280m can still push hard, but it'd be nice to be able to use AA in all my games and max out those few that I can't max now, as well as the anticipated ones to come *cough* Crysis 2/Battlefield 3/Shattered Horizon *cough*
    =P
The only reason I'm thinking at all about swapping to a mobile GPU is because of how powerful the i7 QM Sandy Bridge CPUs are. Since I've rarely maxed out the CPU usage on this machine (most it goes to is around 80% if I'm doing heavy rendering and such), I figure a little less clock speed, same 4 physical, 8 logical CPU cores and far less power drain with a stronger GPU is a good enough balance. And this time, programs won't get confused as to whether I have a laptop or a desktop >_>
