    Does the Sager NP9772-S sound card support 7.1 Surround Sound?

    Don't know yet...but it's going to be a USB headset that supports 7.1 ss, just want to make sure the laptop does as well.

    If it's a USB headset, then whatever audio solution the laptop has doesn't matter at all. Everything will be driven by the USB sound card and its own software.

    There are not many true 7.1 headsets out there. You may also want to be more on the look out for a quality set rather than one that focuses on that feature.

    Shhh don't tell him gaming headsets are junk and true (not virtual) 7.1 ones even more so ;)

    I have a Sager SA-903 got it for $20 bucks on amazon and I LOVE it, the cord is a fabric bared with a usb connection I think they say its 7.1 but I doubt it is even so it sounds perfect for gaming....

    My Virtual 7:1 Corsair HS40 is quite good IMO.. it's not too expensive either...

    The audio chip is capable of 7.1 channels, but the 3.5 mm jacks will support up to 5.1. USB audio is another story and should be capable of 7.1, although the quality will vary.

    You can use the optical out to get 7.1 as well as the jacks (that's why there are 4) :)
