Hello everybody... This is my first post here at the forum, but i'm an avid visitor of this website for about a month... Congrat's on the posts!!
First things first... before everything, i just wanna say sorry if you're tired-sick of reading (and aswering) this type of question - sorry -... Then, i'd like to say i'm sorry (again) if my english isn't correct (because i'm from Brazil)
So, apologies made, let's get down to business....
I'm almost (99,999%) sure i'm going to buy a Sager 5760, cause it has the best cost/benefit relation. So my doubts relies on some questions:
a) Is it worthy to buy the 5760 (with its current config.) in next June-July (time i'm travelling to the US)?? Or is there another notebook (or one with GO 8xxx series) that is going to be released at/until that time??? Is the perfomance diference between 7950gtx or any GO 8xxx worth the wait / extra cash??
b) Is there a big / significant diference (in terms of gaming performance) between T7200 and T7600 (a diference that worths the upgrade cost - i'm kinda short on cash for that)
c) How much RAM can you load into the sistem of the 5760 (w/ 64bit OS) (Max. RAM - 2, 3, or 4 gbs)??
I'm an avid simulation gamer (looking anxiously to purchase a sistem that runs FSX on high/med-high specs, not ultra high, w/ FPS of about 15-20), so, what's the performance of the 5760 when handling w/ FSX??? Any thoughts??
So, I REALLY apreciate the patience of those who read my post (thanx for the time spent), and i'd be highly thanked for those who answer / comment on my questions... Thank you all for your time!!!!

Hello there neighbor to the South,
I myself am looking into a 5760..as far as running FSX goes, I can also relate because i'm an Aviation major in college
As for your question, the 5760 will run FSX at maxed out settings with extremely good FPS..it isn't an extraordinarily taxing game, and the 5760 is a beast of a gaming machine.
Cheers, mate -
a. the 5760 might be equiped with the Go8xxx, there has been no official word as far as I know, but hopefully it will be refreshed with Santa Rosa + Go 8xxx in may/june.
The performance increase would be worth it IMO just because of Dx10.
b.a 7600 has about 10% performance increase off a 7200, if you're playing games with alot of AI you might want to go for it. But for FSX I dont think it would make a worthwhile difference.
c.You can buy up to 4 GB RAM from what I've seen. But I think you can only access 2.8GB, I've read its something about the chipset? :s not sure on that exactly...But it would be best to save your money, buy 2 GB and upgrade later when 4 GB is cheaper. -
very true. there is not benifit to a Go 8XXX yet...
a. DX10 will be the way of the future, so if there is a more powerful 8XXX then go with that other than that the 7950 is still a smoken' card!
b. not much
c. 4GB
not sure when 8XXX are coming out, if they are before you come up to the US watch the benchmarks and if they are better go for the best!!!
Welcome to the forums neighbour WAY to the south(I am in Canada)
// Bob1182006 you beat me too it... cheers -
Heyyy... thanks so much for the answers... you all are very helpfull and kind!!!!

The T7200 is a great deal. I have a T5600 1.83GHz and it overclocks to 2.4GHz. The T7xxx series have more cache though. I imagine if you don't mind overclocking you can reach comparable or higher overclocks if you aren't afraid to do so. It barely makes a difference in temperature for me as well.
For those wondering, refer to a more detailed thread at techpowerup.com 's forums for more info, but to overclock the M570U:
1. Get ClockGen 1.0.5.3 from www.cpuid.com
2. Run ClockGen and goto PLL Setup.
3. Choose PLL ICS 954148
4. Checkmark IGNORE PCI/AGP
5. Click READ CLOCKS.
6. You will see some hexadecimal output in PLL OUTPUT. Change byte 09 from "7E" to "7F" and click Update, then click Apply.
7. You can now read the clocks and change them from the ClockGen menu.
NOTE: You can only go up to 200MHz FSB setting due to the i945PM chipset checks in place. This is usually plenty though.
So get the T7200 if you get the M570U. -
With the new D900C and M570RU coming out, the main difference for gamers to look at is the new Clevo MXM-IV modular videocard design... which would give support for new high-end DX10 cards when they are available [initially will ship with 7950GTX's]. But the price premiums for these newer models might turn people [w/ a tight budget] off. The Clevo M570U (Sager 5760) will not be phased out any time soon, its their best seller and the new M570RU is physically different w/ different features.
The current 7950GTX is still going to remain a high-end notebook for years to come. The new Geforce 8 series has only a select number of models [8800 and up, the 8600 is mid-range and wont perform as fast as the 7950GTX] that can even match/beat the 7950GTX.
Doubt on purchasing new 5760...
