Looking for a desktop replacement for amonth now, I decided to go with the Sager 5760. I haven't ordered it yet but I am having some doubts. I can't seem to find any user reviews on it no NBR except for the expert review. I was just wondering If anyone actually owned one and how they like it or has experince with one? I really need a laptop and I do want it...I just want to be sure it will be a very good one for what I am spending.

Any imput would be very helpful toward me.

I am kind of in a hurry to get a laptop because my computer at home is dying right now and it is finals at school so I need a new one pretty fast..would waiting for the Santa Rosa really be worth it? I can always upgrade later can't I or will it be a huge difference?

It is a decent notebook that will last for a good few years. Santa Rosa isn't worth it right now for the gamer market (GPU selection is weak) it's ok for multi-media users though.

Santa Rosa's out already, but if you want a 17" with it you should wait for the go 8800, if you buy now and upgrade you'll haveta pay like 500-600 for a new GPU.

Or you could downgrade and go for a 15.4" semi-gaming notebook that uses the go 8600.

Hey just want to point out that that in the G80M market all that will be available for sometime is the 8600 which shouldn't be faster than the 7950GTX.

Almost eveyone here have 5760, so go ahead. It's a hell of a machine ;).

If you want review, maybe you could search for the Hypersonic version - The aviator CX-7. The 5760 is a rebranded clevo model (m570u). A lot of rebranders exists (check Wiki for Clevo).

And about SantaRosa. No need to wait. No tangible advantages as of yet. For now it's only a trend. (look on Anandtech for details).

The actual NAPA platform with a C2D processor and a 7950GTX is still a good choice.

My father-in-law has the dv9000t. It's a nice laptop, but the graphics card (7600) has such lower performance than the 7950gtx, that to me it's worth the price difference to get the Sager.
