Latest version out for driver 178.13 XP, Vista (x86, x64)
Post all feedback and bug reports here
Thanks for the testers for their role once again, you know who you are ;)

    Changes since last release:
    • Fixed crash in Enemy Territory Quake wars
    • Added resolutions 1680x1050 and 1920x1080
    • Tweaked for slightly higher image quality and less texture shimmering
    • Nvidia startup items and service disabled by default
    • Enable/Disable SLI without restart
    • XP x64 debut.

    Grab it from Laptopvideo2go:
    Download Links and install guides

    Notes

    Dox driver issues and fixes:
    • Download the driver files fom LV2GO, If downloading from nvidia make sure you download the international version otherwise during install the driver setup will ask for missing files
    • Enabling/Disabling sli without restart MAY result in choppy gaming performance, restart the laptop if you experience this
    • Want the highest 3D marks? Your using the wrong drivers :)
    • You may notice that I left nvpldaemon in the startup item, that is needed for colour profiles to load on startup (amongst other things too detailed to list here)
you can disable it if you dont adjust screen colour using NV CP

Not Dox driver issues and fixes:
    • Digital Vibrance is broken in XP (vista unconfirmed), use Rivertuner to adjust
    • Corruptions in BF2142, try my older 177.92 driver (xp x64 isnt supported in that release)
    • Start laptop on AC power otherwise when you plugin and start a game the clock speed will only go to low 3d perf mode

My drivers are for REAL WORLD GAMES not 3D marks

    Previous release:
    177.92

    UPDATE
Since going live - I think I've fixed vista x86 install issue
Re - uploaded inf file to support 9800M GTX with dev id 608 - i know that was "fixed" last release but wiht all the new features i tested for this release I over looked such as small and simple thing, my aplogies :)
also clean out your cookies if using mozilla firefox because you'll be download the old files from the server (wierd issue i know)

So far I like the first inf Dox.

    My 3dmark06 14865 with it.

with the second inf it was 14654.

All in all the first inf is much smoother gameplay also. Very sable with no BSOD either.

    Thanks

the released public INF is based on the first and second beta i sent you in that it has SLI without restart and tweaked for higher image quality.
The only other difference int he pub released is that I adjusted the MipMap LOD to be smoother and do away with texture shimmering (which I find distracting)

In realworld games doesnt impact FPS but usaully improves on it :)

Tried to install the new Drivers today (coming from the 177.92) but I couldn't do it.
I uninstalled the old drivers, restarted, copied Dox's mod inf to the folder of the new drivers and it stops in the midle of the instalation.
After I press "Yes" it starts installing and stops saying that it didn't install and if I want to install it again should run the wizard again. Went back to 177.92.

    Any ideas why?

It would help if i know what OS you are using :)
I recommend you should try to install again using the have disk method as it will give you precise errror during the install. have disk method

make sure you download the international version of the driver 178.13 because the inf is modded for that version.

    I'm on Vista 32 bits.
Tried the have disk method. Nothing again...

Says something like "We found a driver for your GPU but couldn't add the driver to the store."

Or something like this. I downloaded the driver from L2vgo, your mod inf... and I still can't install. As I said, your previous mod inf worked great.

They'll install on any supported cards since I removed the specific sub ids for each card ( a portecttion of you like).

It'll install on your card for sure. You can give it a try if you like, it shouldnt screw your system. But i made it for clevo people in mind only.

each mobile oem drivers has its own specific settings and code.
I've taken the clevo oem inf and optimised it-

-done away with legacy useless code that nvidia left in
-added hacks to improve performance and image quality
    -totally customised it

with dell infs you'll find its more "complicated" with many more codes and settings in the inf (tells the driver what to do effectively).

so thats why mine are for clevo "only"

The 178.13 is almost perfect. I got a slightly improved 3dmark score compered to stock drivers (can't remember the version now) and a much smoother game play :)

The only extremly annoying thing is that my tv tuner in Vista media center won't work! Not with 178.13 or 177.92.

It says that the drivers stopped working and i get a BSOD.

Any suggestions. (I follwed the installation guide step by step and didn't get any error reports)

    hi deodot.

    thanks for the feedback.
Can you tell me the last drivers that made your tv tuner work?
I think it may be to do with one of my optimisations in the driver.
(I disabled somethings in the drivers to really optimise the system)

Like i say my drivers are purely for gaming and some functions may not work.
However I can try and get it fixed for the next release :)

and other users please do report back problems so i can fix it :)

I've only tried 177.92 and 178.13 with your inf. And with those it didn't work.

    I haven't had any tv-tuner problem with any of the 174.xx 175.xx 176.xx I've tried. I think the last one was 176.02..

Thanks again for all the good work you're doing :)

(If you know what the problem is, is this something i could fix for myself?)

I could make dell specific infs..... if i wanted...
heck i could make every oem specific inf, but I dont have machines to test on for myself personally.

    so sorry no.

    side stuff:
I suppose I could make "one size fits" all infs like pieter but with my own enhancements to boost performance and image quality, but that would mean im competing with lv2go something that I dont want to do :).

    I wouldn't go hassling him ;)

he has a dell but only makes it for his dell 5150/5160.

Just stick to using pieter's inf :)

Just installed your 178.13 inf, and my physx isn't working. In the control panel it has no currently installed version number and the demos cause it to crash. I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling physx to no avail.

    Any ideas?

I had some problems as well when installing psysx.

I got it to work after uninstalling everything. ageia physix and nvidia video driver. Run driver cleaner on both of them. Then installing dox's 178.13. After that i installed physx 08.09.04, downloaded from nvidia, seperatly.

Whats the install process for the 178.13 drivers modded inf and physx again? I cant remember..

do you have to use have disk method?

    so it goes
    Uninstall with control panel
    Reboot to Safe Mode
    Driver Cleaner
    Restart again to Safe Mode
Install 178.13 using have disk (with modded inf)
    Restart to Safe Mode again?
    Install PhysX driver?

Can I put the PhysX driver in the graphics driver folder and just install 178.13 and PhysX at the same time?(I hear the inf already supports the physx install so you can do this?? so like it will be automatically installed as part of the driver package...) If so anything I need to do special?

    Thanks for feedback.

I did all that, uninstalled (driver and physx), ran driver sweeper in safe mode, rebooted and installed 178.13 via have disk (with physx 8.09.04 in folder). After that didnt work (crashed when trying to run the demos) I uninstalled the physx and reinstalled it with no difference. I am running Vista Ult 64

Maybe you didn't notice, but they made your thread a sticky which means its stays at the top no matter what. Not only that but the title already says driver s/inf s but it only contains one driver. So are we making stickies now for just a single driver?

why shouldn't I make stickies for single driver?
Why are we being politicolly correct?

because the thread links to all driver releases over at LV2GO?
Maybe because I want people to use it because i am proud of what i've done?

Since the 178.13 is the latest one dox made clevo specific inf´s for, it's a really good thing that it stays at the top.

More people will see it, download it and use it, which meens more feedback to Dox, that will result in even better drivers for everyone :)

with 178.13 my 3dmarks jumped 300 pts, my temps dropped 10'C (gaming and idle), IQ seems to be improved though it could be placebo, and framerates went up in all games ive tested so far...
