Hello. I've been looking at laptops and initially was drawn to Sager/Clevo/Metabox/Dreambook whatever it's called by the M860TU but I've been sorta turned off that by:

    - Price
    - Size/Weight
    - Noise
    - Heat
    - Main issue: clunky keyboard, especially the space bar

I've now been turned onto this:

    (STUPID NO URL RULE)

pioneercomputers . com . au and find the DreamBookPower TW8 15.4 inch machine.

I'm not sure what the American equivilent of the model is but at that price I'd be able to get 4 gig ram, 500 gb hard drive and a 2.8 (which is what I was always looking for) or even a 3.06 and still be way under the price of the M860TU with a 2.8 Ghz.

    My questions:

Does anyone here have any experience with this notebook?
What's the American equivilent so that I can search for reviews on American sites etc?
How does a 9600 stack up for gaming, in comparison to the 9800 especially?
If the M860TU has a clunky keyboard, can we expect the same from this model I'm looking at?

    Thank you for your help!

I read the guide, it's where I got the website from initially, but it didn't mention the DreamBook Power TW8.

Do you know of the American equivilent or any threads about it? The link you gave me is for the M860TU which I already know some stuff about.

look up any of the major US Clevo vendors and you will find the M860TU.
    - Sager and their resellers (Sager NP8660)
    - Pro-Star and their resellers (ProStar M860TU)
    - Eurocom and their resellers (Eurocom M860TU)
    .... etc...

EDIT: I just looked up the DreamBook Power TW8 .... its a mid-range notebook with a Nvidia 9600M GS

you can find many notebook with the better 9600M GT or the ATI 3600 for around $1000 USD:
    - HP dv5t
    - ASUS notebooks (N50, G50, M50, etc... series)
    - Compal JHL90 (Sager 2096)
    - MSI-1651

the TW8 is built by quanta and there are not too many suppliers out there for it.

Quanta usually builts pretty good quality so should be a good buy if the spec is what you are looking for.

The 2.8 GHz processor is also important to me.

If I bump up my budget above 3 grand Aussie (remember that our dollar sucks right now hahaha) then I could get an Asus G50VT with a 2.8 GHz and 9800 graphics and cheaper than the Metabox M860TU
