Hi all,
I have just bought a 2nd hand Sager 5600p lappy;
and the Drivers/Utilities CD is non existant![]()
I have visited http://www.sagernotebook.com/pages/tech_sfwrdls.html#2
drivers page and cant find my model - infact all the listings start with 'NP'
where as the model on back of my lappy says '5600P'.
Any ideas on how I can get access to all the drivers, or better still the cd itself?
thx in advancedos

How old is the laptop? I don't see the 5600 there either. I wouldn't worry about the "P" on the end of the model number. My 5320 has a -C on the end, but that doesn't matter.
-
About 4-5 yrs old. I think it was originally purchased in the us (i'm in australia).
I also tried to find 5600 but could only see 5220, 5250, 5260 etc...
thxdos

Hm, I wonder if they would even have drivers for that still . . .
What are the specs of the laptop? -
Well, that's heartening news in any case...4-5 years and the biggest problem with this Sager is a lack of drivers? w00t w00t!

By the way Dos - did you try contacting Sager? Maybe they have some old CDs lying around and you'd just have to pay for the shipping..... -
Specs 4 me lappy:
p4 2.39ghtz cpu
64mg Mobility Radeon 7500 vdo card
36gig hd
512mg ram
CDRW/DVD
1xPCI Slot
SVideo out
etc
I thought about contacting sager, cept the form on the website ask for all kinda invoice/serial number stuff. To be honest I thought that its just for those who have purchased a newby. Spose i'll haf 2 call em.

It is nice that dos's lappy has a P4 in it, though, which was never a good mobile idea! 'Course, we don't know if it was ever sent in/repaired/replaced, so who knows?
And to dos, yes, I'd give Sager a call and wait for them to get back to you. I like Pup's idea to see if they maybe have some extra CDs lying about - I'm sure they'd part with one for shipping costs. Better yet, perhaps they have them archived somewhere else? Let us know what you find out! -
Sorry for this is a long delay between posts, have been int'state workin and jsut come back. But thought I'd reply incase someone else comes accross the same problem too.
Did end up communicating with there techo's @ sager, they were helpful, though I had to send all serial #'s b4 getting any help at all, especially for bios updates.
So thanks to ur advice guys n gals

That was a very cool machine if I'm thinkin of the right one... one of the last powerful machines that could hold a battery in the multibay. That video card should be upgradeable if you can find the card.. I think a Radeon 9000 was the highest it went.
-
sure is a beasty lil thang thas 4 sure. Runs really hot thought. Infact I wouldnt put it on my lap - considering the air intake is underneath.
So you reckon the video card is upgradable. I have the Mobiltiy Radeon 7500. I will surely keep an eye out for it. -
Yeah, Powernotebooks sold those machines... so did alienware for a while... I remember a Radeon 9000 with... I think 64mb.

you can go to pro-star.com for a complete list of drivers for this machine. look under support/downloads5600p/dd.
