I was hoping someone could helping me in installing "Me" on the Second HD with the XP on the primary drive. without having to uninstall XP or having to reinstall XP after Me.

And why are you interested in installing ME? Seriously, that was probably the worst OS that Microsoft ever came out with.

Generally, you have to install OSes starting with the oldest one, so I'm not sure how to do it. You might be able to install ME to a different partition, then boot with an XP disk and run the command (from the recovery prompt) fixMBR.

Why, why, WHY would you want Windows ME? If you need an old operating system aquire a virtual pc (if you have xp pro you can get virtualpc2007 for free) and install win98SE or win2000.

why get ME1 when you can get ME2 (ahem... I mean Vista) :)

I digress, get the Virtual PC 2007 (for free on Microsoft's site). I have been using it, it seems fine for old Windows, but its horrible for new Linux versions.

I would agree with Gophn--that is by far the easiest solution.

ME requires that it be loaded to the first partition on the first (0) drive. It simply is impossible to load it to a second drive.

You could, possible, swap the drives, install ME on the new drive (now first), then run a Windows repair and point it to the second drive and it MAY pick it up and set up the way you want. Windows XP needs to install a boot record on the first drive (the one that will have ME) that points to the second drive, as well as the dual boot menu.

It is easier to go with Virtual PC 2007

okay, I get the "hint", I kinda like "Me". Just thought I would like to run it as a second OS on the second HD. Just something different.
I will look into Virtual PC 2007,

    Thanks,

I'd definitely consider running a Linux operating system on your second partition, that would be something to experiment with.

Even if you could install ME on that second partition I doubt you could get drivers for most of your hardware.

Thanks for all the reply, unfortunely, I don't use my Notebook for much other then web surfing, Office Documents, Music and Gaming. So I don't know what advantages I would get with Linux. I looked into Vitual PC and I need XP Pro, which I don't have on the D900T, I have XP Home, on my IBM yes, (I think, maybe I will try that) I liked the old style look of Me, I will see about loading it on the second drive, only if I can without having to unload XP.

Why did you want another OS anyways? If it's just for the look of Me (which is horrible IMO), get a theme for Xp or something and save yourself the trouble.

Well, you all can say, "I told you so". I could not install "Me", I kept running into the same issue, "Me" would not load up, it would go to the Me startup menu. It would be loaded on the second HD, I did partition 20Gb for installation in FAT32. I am guess that "Me" just does not work with the Clevo D900T, I am looking at just doing a complete reinstall of HOME edition and leave it alone after that. I really don't know what the main issue was. I did gett the dual boot, XP home or Me, but when I went to Me, I got the startup menu.

I would really recommend to just use:
    - Microsoft Virtual PC 2007
    or
    - VMware 5

Both are free, and painless to use. :)
