    Hello I am new here,
Don't know if this has been done, if it is please show me link to the post. Thank you.

I am looking for the list of Clevo/Sager models with "Dual Thunderbolt-2" Port (Also reffered to as mini displayport)

So far I can see that only Sager/Clevo seems to have this. Dell, Alienware, MSI & other brand have only 1 for the model that have it.

    Can anybody help?

    Thank you

Fairly confusing. TB3 is TB3, DP is just for display. You can get a TB3 docking station with two DP outputs.

The way it works in these models is you have two displayports and two thunderbolt ports, however MXM can only do 4 outputs (including internal screen) so if you want DP over thunderbolt you have to re-route them.

The P870 and P7xx series had them.

DP is NOT JUST ONLY for Display. I have not & don't own a Sager/Clevo yet. But on Dell/Alienware, you can on your Bios setting, Changed it from being Display to using it for other conectivity.
I do Media & Live Streaming. So I am looking at connecting something like Aja I/O 4k on it, not for display but to bring in Camera & also use Blackmagic Devices on it. Most of their Devices are Thunderbolt2 (except new ones.) Which limit alot of people doing media to having to buy a MacBook because of the port. So seeing that Sager/Clevo also have 2 was something I have googles & can't find list or other brand with same. Other brands only have 1 & again it is NOY ONLY for display(depend on the manufacturer).

I saw a P950 online that also have that.
Is there anywhere I can see the full list of those that have it?

    Thanks

It's not usually something that gets compiled like that.

Interesting. Wikipedia corroborates your story, DP can be used for data. No settings to control this on my Alienware m15.

The ports can do data but the motherboard is going to have to be wired that way.

This was only the case for Thunderbolt 2 Generation systems where they were made dual-purpose. It was actually a Thunderbolt2 controller with mux'ing that was enabling that functionality.

Any modern system (including current Clevo) just has Mini-DP routed directly to the Nvidia GPU for display purposes only. TB2 backwards-compatibility is offered via the Thunderbolt 3 controller and Type-C ports.

What you'll need to do is get some TB3->TB2 adapter cables if you wish to use older TB2 devices. Startech and Apple make them.

I don't really understand the question or problem in this thread, but I want to add something.

In the current line-up of TongFang/Uniwill and Clevo, the only systems which have a Thunderbolt 3 port with two seperate DP 1.4 streams, are:
These two models also have in common, that they don't have a seperate Mini-DP port next to Thunderbolt.

Background: the NVIDIA GPU gives out 4 native display outputs.
    • One for internal Display
    • Three for external Displays
    • Usually, these three are split up into:
      • 1x HDMI
      • 1x DP
      • 1x Thunderbolt 3 with DP
    • On XMG FUSION and NEO however, we have:
      • 1x HDMI
      • 2x DP over a single Thunderbolt 3 port
That's a key difference in mainboard architecture and something that makes the Thunderbolt Ports on XMG NEO and FUSION more powerful than most other full-sized gaming laptops.

    BR,
    Tom

AFAIK this is just a routing choice to the Titan Ridge Thunderbolt3 controller.
The Titan Ridge chips have 2 Display sinks (inputs) and 2 TB3 outputs. Most manufacturers seemingly only opt to route a single port (likely due to bandwidth constraints of running 2x TB3 ports off a single x4 PCIE link).

In the case of the Clevo PB series, they actually have 5 display endpoints, as there is HDMI, mini-DP, TB3 and USB-C+DP (plus internal). There is an internal switcher for which Type-C Port gets used (dependent on display connectivity detection) which seems to actually be integrated into Turing GPUs.
