    Hi,

    I have a P670hs-g.

If I boot up or wake from sleep with the heaphones inserted into the dual headpone\spidf output, the heaphones are over driven. Volume is excessively loud, and there is a lot hissing when using 16 bit ('windows sonic' spatialisation).

If I unplug the headphones and replug, the volume goes back to normal and the headphones are driven correctly.

My last laptop busted the headphone jack, and I don't particularly want to be forever unplugging the headphones.

Has anyone else encountered this, or found a solution?

I've tried disabling\enabling the sound card, changing the default playback, running init_headphone in the hotkey directory. I've got all the latest drivers and hotkey installed from the Clevo website.

Btw, looking at the service manual, in the circuit diagrams it implies that the 670 has an amp but not the ESS dac. It may have just been a dodgy copy paste however, as it references p670Sx.

    Thanks for any input.

    Chris.

    Hi Chris.

No reports of this yet on our end. Which BIOS and EC firmware versions are you running? And are you using the Sound Blaster software that usually comes pre-installed?

    Hi Pro,

Bought it couple of months ago. I don't think Clevo offer any bios or uefi update currently for it, not in their downloads section.

I'm using the xfi mb5 software.

    msinfo32 says,

    bios version 1.05.05 23/2/17
    smbios 3.0
    bios mode uefi,

You can hear it click, so its changes mode and adjusts the impedance correctly to headphone. It just isn't triggered until the plug is reinserted.

Clevo control centre thinks the impedance is 48 regardless, it is probably bugged and the cause of the issue. updated to v 5....1.1.37

Probably everyone has this, but they just adjust the volume and think nothing of it.

As a side note of general interest for anyone as I couldn't find a thread on it, control centre doesn't just select power profile when you choose quiet or performance. It aggresively throttles the cpu on quiet - not linked to minimum processor state. Pushes in excess of 90 deg C cpu on performance and entertainment

Reinstalled it C drive (it defaults to the drive you install on) and set showheadphones=1 (default 2) in oem.ini

Appears to have fixed it, have no idea why

Or not. Appears the issue remains after waking from sleep.

Will leave this thread here for anyone else who has the same issue.

I've got the same issue, turning on the laptop after shutting it down makes the headpones overly loud, I have to unplug/plug them to reset it, doesn't happen when I do a restart.

I contacted the local distributor but I doubt there will be a response without the input of Clevo, or someone familiar with the hardware and software engineering.

Either way, the control centre isn't displaying the correct impedance in this situation.

Apparently you can get rid of this through a format and reinstall with the most recent image.

Perhaps some sort of incompatibility that arose after the creator update.

The jack can output at a low current or a higher one for larger speakers. For whatever reason the driver is not reacquiring after wake from sleep.
