The 45nm E8400 is obviously cheaper and faster than the E6850, see here.

Will the E8400 be supported inthe 9261/2, is it already being offered by the resellers?

No update was needed. The Sager NP9262 supports both, and the E8400 is now available.

Dammit all, now I have to buy 2 new CPUs, one for my desktop and my laptop......well actually, I guess going from a E6850 to an 8400 in my lappy would not be much of an improvement since I can't overclock it....or can you??

ashveratu, have you noticed that almost no one swears on this forum. Most people are able to express themselves well without using that kind of language.

As for overclocking, the answer is that the BIOS has overclocking locked out. Therefore the CPUs in the NP9262 cannot be overclocked. Only the CPUs in the NP5793 can be overclocked.
