    Hi all,

I have a wonderful W230ST for a couple of years now and I think my EDP cable is broken. I had some issues which started around last year when my screen would flicker off, when I nudge the screen a little bit, the image will come back. But after so much nudges everything went black. So I'm stuck here with a laptop without a working screen. I have it hooked up to an external monitor right now.

But where can I obtain such cables? It's like completely hidden away or absolutely impossible to obtain, or do I search completely wrong?

Contact Sager (if it's a Sager model), your reseller, or Clevo directly to request a replacement.

I'd agree with HTWingNut. Check with where you bought it and provide the model and serial number for your computer, and they should be able to check in to the cable availability.

I asked where I bought it, they won't supply me with the cable, I can only send it back for repair. My last hope is to contact Clevo directly, so I hope they can provide me with the cable. I'm a bit sad though, because that customer service is just horrible, just horrible. Not providing a cable, and for what, so I can send it back for repair and they can get a few extra bucks of me. Pathetic. /rant

First you need to open the machine up and determine if the cable is simply loose rather than broken.

Yeah I checked, and its connected properly. I also don't think its the screen because when the issue started I could resolve it by wedging the screen open >< close to get the screen back.

Did you check the connection to the motherboard and the connection on the back of the panel?
