I have planned my financial income for the rest of the year and I'm definetely getting a Clevo-based gaming laptop. This will happen either beginning of December 2011 or January 2012. Anyhow, its gonna happen. But thats not the question.

 Question is this - Im from Bulgaria, a small south-eastern country in Europe and I can't help but wonder - how much is it going to cost me to ship one of these gaming rigs from the USA or Canada to waay over here? I calculated, its cheaper to buy it from Sager or Eurocom, compared to the german DevilTech and Schenker companies and I think its got something to do with the Euro being high right now. Even though Bulgaria is in the EU, we are still having our own currency and its never a good idea to buy something that costs in Euros. The US currency however...it makes it very affordable.

To all Europeans, who have bought from Sager or Eurocom (or maybe another Clevo laptop configurator), share your experience - how long did you wait for it to ship, does it come by cargo plane shipments or by sea? How much did the shipment cost you? Have there been any issues with the package, damages etc?

Also, which company will be more user-friendly (and price-wise also), Eurocom or Sager?

    Enlighten me, guys! :)

P.S. I dont have an e-mail client and my 3G modem runs at 2kb/s - cant download anything right now. So please, if someone could send me the e-mail adress of Sager from their contacts page - that'd be great. They have hidden it from spam by a link that requires me to have an e-mail client (which I dont and cant download for the reason above) and I really need to write them a letter of inquiry about a certain configuration.

Please, someone send me their e-mail on PM! Thanks!

I have been buying a couple of laptops from Sager because the european resellers charged the same amount in Euro's as Sager did in Dollars. It was a lot cheaper to buy from sager directly.

    Please note:
    • shipping is quite expensive (ca EUR 150) insured and next day delivery
    • VAT was 19% and EUR 20 fee for the shipper
    • if you have to return your system to Sager for repair, this may cost a lot of time and money, so check if you have a service point for Clevo computers nearby

I saw the same thing, its WAY more expensive at the european resellers. Take the german DevilTech and Schenker for instance...at Eurocom, a GTX580 upgrade from GTX560 costs 339$ and in DevilTech - 449 EUR!!!! Its doubled! And the RAM.... what I get in Eurocom is 12GB for the price that I get only 6GB in DevilTech... Go figgure.

150 EUR is not as much as I thought it would be. And it even includes insurance...not bad! I am totally fine with that shipment fee, as long as the packet arrives quickly and without damage :)

I didnt quite understand that - do you get to pay 19% extra on the whole price for the laptop, converted in EUR, or what? Please explain how the VAT system for this works. (I thought the prices in Sager included VAT)

I just hope I never have to seek repair service. The only place in my country with Clevo laptops on sale is in my city, though its a Greek company that has a store here in Bulgaria too. Its Plesio (in greek Plaisio), its even listed in the Clevo resellers here on the forums. They are focused on the H150 barebone. Im hoping I never have to go so far as to ask them for repairs. Imagine a review I read of the service in Plesio - as they assembled a laptop for a client, they forgot to put cooling paste on the CPU...the client had to return the assembled laptop over 5 times for different issues, it was supposedly a nightmare. I dont wanna risk the same thing happening to me!

check pcspecialists.co.uk, i am european myself, but i aint buying from the USA. shipping costs + vat+ imprort duties make it more expensive, + the fact that if it needs service will cost a lot. i am greek myself and yes plaisio are bad but because i am studying in the UK i will buy from there. check the website, best of luck.

Yes, you take the price in USD, convert it to EUR than multiply by 1.19 (19%) or whatever the VAT is in your member state and you get your final consumer price. To that you add shipping and other possible taxes to get to the final price.

I'd recommend you to check out mysn.de. Prices are bit higher compared to Deviltech, but their customer support is near excellent.

I bought from them XMG P501 (Clevo 150HM)
