Same chassis as the pb5x series but with the OLED panel and a 1660Ti, it's a great media consumption/creation device with decent gaming performance.

If you shelled out another couple hundred, you could upgrade to the NP8454 which has the RTX 2070 instead of the GTX 1660 Ti. May or may not be worthwhile for your use case. I've been waiting for reviews to come out for the new Clevo's.

It's a big gaming performance upgrade but if that's worth it is up to you.

I did see the RTX 2070 option. Gaming is a secondary use for the machine, and I plan to utilize an eGPU as soon as it is needed. Also curious to see if the GTX 1660 runs cooler and helps the overall thermal profile.

I ordered late last week. Excited to see the OLED in person.

You have an internal card bearing the limits of eGPU performance already due to TB3 lag.

Generally this will be the case (less power = less heat), especially on systems with unified heatsinks.

Can you elaborate? I am not sure what the last part means.

He means that even if you use an RTX 2080 Ti as an eGPU, TB3 will limit it to the same performance as a mobile RTX 2070.

Linus did a good video on the performance impact.

@Meaker@Sager, I'm trying to determine which PB51 models with a GTX1660TI support G-sync and graphics switching, if any. Is this the case for the PB51RC, if the 144hz panel option is chosen? Or do I need to go up to a PB51RD-G (RTX2060) or PB51RF-G (RTX2070) to get both G-Sync and graphics switching?

This Dutch reseller claims to sell a model with GTX1660TI and G-Sync (scroll down to screen panel options), but I'm wondering if this is correct?

Ask them, if they guarantee it and it does not have unit you can always send it back.

I purchased this laptop last week and it arrived yesterday and I'm very impressed! It seems like I've gone through just about every manufacturer (Dell, Acer, Dell again (Alienware), and gigabyte) and I was never happy with the thermal performance (who thought 100c during normal use was acceptable??). This laptop is a winner for me! Nothing I throw at it gets temps above 70c! That includes running 3dmark, prime 95, and working in Photoshop CC. The display is incredible also, 100% srgb (172% gamut volume) is perfect for my photography work!

EDIT- Got the sound blaster app sorted. This is a fantastic laptop!

To enable the SBX support, there are some components that need to be installed. I have a stand alone installer I ripped from a supported driver that should enable the feature as long as it's enabled on the chip. Just right click on each .inf and install the 3 packages.

What is the difference between PB51RC-O and PB51RF-G?
Is there any meaning behind letters RC RF?

The GPU is the difference, 1660ti vs 2070 between those two. Then o for OLED and g for g-sync.
