How easy is for a repair/reseller/whatever related to pcs/laptops company to service and repair a clevo laptop? i will buy in october from the uk a clevo laptop but because i will be there only for a year, for my masters degree i wanted to know how easy is for another pc company that can offer service/repair for laptops to fix it if anything comes up? cause the costs of moving it from country to country may a bit a lot.

theoretically since clevo are the most customizable laptops i guess it will be easy to fix anything right?

It is easy to fix, if replaceable parts like RAM or HDD are broken.

But if the MB or a clevo-unique part is broken, the part must come from clevo.

Also, I recently RMA'd my laptop, the problem is the factory does not pay for shipping at all. Even tho my laptop went bad in the 1st year ( for me 4 months ), they made me pay for both way shipping, which is, imo, ridiculous.

My reseller, Larry, did everything for me, he forwarded my computer to the factory when I sent mine to LPC-digital from Korea, because I felt unsafe about shipping it directly to the factory.

Be nice to the resellers, and they will do the same for you. Without Larry, I don't think I would have even sent my laptop in from Korea to be fixed. Your reseller will be the assurance from outside the country, so be sure to find a really good reseller, clevo laptops are all fixed in the same factory.

Yes, you would have to send it back to UK, unless you just buy the parts off somewhere else, in which case would cost you extra $$$.

Unfortunately, you would have to send it back to the reseller that you purchased it from or to the UK clevo center. As was mentioned previously, certain parts can be repaired/replaced by the user, but Clevo specific parts will require it to be serviced by them.

The screen in particular is user replaceable if you can find a similar/exact match. Screens in general are proprietary, but this model uses a screen that other laptops use as well, so it's not impossible to find. The motherboard would be one thing that is unique and impossible to replace on your own. (unless you bought a used machine someone was selling for parts)

    The screen is replaceable.

The glossy is AUO B156HW01 V.7, and the matte is AUO B156HW01 V.4

    :D

    Cheers.

ty v much! so i guess the only thing that cant be replaced is the motherboard which i guess its a bit very unfortunate for the motherboard to go totally wrong, so i guess afterall it wont be that hard to receive service somewhere else :)
