I have never heard of that laptop, but almost every laptop uses standard optical drives. You should be able to remove yours from your laptop with one screw, and then take it out and get a blu-ray drive. The only problem you may have is getting one with the right colored faceplate, or one which matches the contours of your laptop.

Would someone just move this to the Sager/Clevo forum....

Thats just another Clevo M860TU question.

Yes, the Clevo M860TU has a standard optical drive bay that can use almost all standard optical slimline drives (such as blu-ray)

I don't want to rain on your parade, but, couldn't you just get a PS3 to complement that 8800M GTX? It has blu-ray you know...

    a) it costs less than the blu-ray drive in a laptop
    b) you can enjoy it with a big screen & arguably better surround sound
    c) you can enjoy great games such as the MGS4's and Gran Turismo 5's (full) of the console world...
    d) you could always upgrade that drive later:
    i) when its fully supported by film producers
    ii) when its less expensive

If you already have one, please adopt me. :p

Chidsed, when you buy the edge and if you take it with the diamond warranty you can always trade in your optical drive and pay the difference for a blue ray drive when they become cheaper.

Just an option to explore. May be cheaper, may not.

@Nirvana: Wow, the 8800M GTX performs that well? I honestly never imagined that. I thought it was like 20 and below FPS on any rez over 1024x768. Then what the **** does everyone complain about with the need to overclock and the need to get 9800GTX and more?

Yes, most of these custom notebooks allows user upgrades... there are actually instructions in the user's manuals when you get the notebook.

Just dont break it (which is hard to do unless if you are careless) and the warranty would still be good.

i had the m15x for a little and when i played crysis at that res and all high it didnt really even come that close i didnt think you will get 30fps i maybe wrong maybe you notebooks has some different changes to increase your FPS but my experinces show it cant play crysis that well.

PS. i think if they somehow got the 9800GTX in the M860TU it would help out alot because the memory is a 1G

unlikely, they are both too fast for 99.999% of games in the market but too slow for crysis.

8800M GTX and 8800M GTX SLI,

and in the future, the Toshiba x305 will have the 9800m GTX.

And outside the land of laptops, anything from a 8800 GTX to a GTX 280 could handle that game extremely well.
