The Eluktronics P650 series looks interesting. The prices are markedly lower than the other Clevo resellers, they offer a 5TB HDD (which needs a 15mm bay), and they don't offer a Core i7-7820HK (boo).

What are people's experiences with them, and is this really the same Clevo or is simply the same nomenclature but different parts?

All parts are standard. It comes down to options offered and after sales service.

A 5TB drive? Wouldn't that be only in the 3.5" standard?

It looks like the same Clevo P650, albeit Eluktronics branding.

    It's a 2.5" 5TB drive that is about 15mm high (it uses both 2.5" in the P650).

Plus it uses shingled magnetic recording so it is even more aimed at archiving than normal.

I'm curious on this, too. If I get a P650HP6 it would most likely be from them on Amazon or NewEgg. If anyone has dealt with them some input would be greatly appreciated.

I bought the p650hp6 (no gysnc) laptop from them directly on their site. Their support answered the questions I had very firmly, I received the laptop on Tuesday and I haven't had any major issues (I'd recommend downloading the obisidian driver tool and updating your drivers with that instead of the Eluktronics drivers since they are out of date compared to the Clevo ones).

Overall, I've had a good experience and I will let the forum know if I begin to have any issues (hopefully not since I waited pretty much a month for a good laptop to come into my hands O_O)
