Has anyone else ordered an NP 9262 recently / or have had a 1month+ wait for it to build and ship domestic?

Unfortunately there was a unexpected delay on 9262's reaching Sager from Clevo. I am sure many are in the same unfortunate position as you.

Thanks for your reply Justin. The word I've gotten from Sager about 4 weeks ago was that sometime this week they would be receiving the LCD's from across the pond (didn't sound like a chassis delay). I'm hoping that this is the case as I cannot stand the wait any longer.

Have you considered waiting for the M980NU? Isn't it out in April?

D900F is still unclear like the other models. All we know is May at this time.

Of course they will be available in europe, kobalt has already said they'll be stocking them and novatech has them up too in the UK. Cizmo also has them up, as do a few others on the continent.

I ordered a 9262 from Xotic I on 3/21/09 (I think my card went through a few days later). Xotic let me know the box was on back order right away but you've already heard that from Justin's posts above.

Xotic keeps their customers well informed.

I am wondering though if I should have waited until the d900f comes out. Especially, if my order won't ship until mid April. :(

On one hand it will stink if the 900f comes out 3 weeks after I get my my 9262 (especially if it costs less) but on the other hand you can't wait forever and there is always something new coming out.

    Just got my answer --

The comments for your order are:

    Mr. X,

Your order will be shipping out this week. From what I've been told, Thursday will be the latest.

Please let me know if there is anything else we can answer for you.

    Thank you!

On the contrary, I think people (like myself) might want to know what they're getting themselves into.

I was the one who informed Justin of the delay.

I wanted to order a 9262 back on 3/10. I spoke with Donald at Powernotebooks and he told me that certain parts were back ordered and the earliest ship date was at least 3/23.

So I called Xotic and spoke with Justin. He told me there was no delay at all. I called Donald back and he said there most cerainly was a delay. He suggested I call Sager directly. Before I did, I also called PCTorque. I don't know who I spoke with, but he confirmed what Donald was telling me.

I then called Sager directly and the person there confirmed that they would not be getting the parts until at least 3/23. I called Justin back and told him and he had no idea there was a parts delay.

I have to tell you, when a novice like me has more info than the supposed expert, we have a problem Houston.

I'm rather wondering how long the 5797s are going to take myself.
With the 280m GTX street date being the 25th... starting to wonder
how long it takes Sager through official channels to get a hold of these newer cards.

    Ordered March 17th btw.

Basically I've been told that I'm going to have to have patience and no one knows a solid date. Just to say "late March to early April, or longer."

This could have likely happened when the original shipment was postponed. There was a prior ETA provided by Sager that was later postponed.

I wouldn't say you had any more info, rather it was the previous ETA's that were just being pushed back.

Meaning people don't always get in the know all the time. It's just a small mistake. The notebooks will ship to the respective buyers eventually, anyway. :)

Sure, you had a specific, concrete motivation to narrow down the ETA, and conflicting information that had to be resolved one way or the other. As Justin@xoticpc posted (if I've read his post correctly :D), he had an earlier ETA announcement that he had no reason to question, and had not yet received any update on that original announcement.

So, the mere fact that you, being highly motivated to verify the exact ETA of these systems, had fresher information than a reseller who had no reason to question the original ETA he had been provided with, proves nothing other than that you had a specific, concrete motivation that Justin@xoticpc did not. That doesn't sound like a problem to me, nor, most likely, to anyone in Houston. :)

My situation at the time was I needed a laptop ASAP. My desktop crashed and I was squeaking by on an old one that I borrowed. I called Powernotebooks to order and was told none were shipping until at least 3/23. This was later confirmed by PC Torque and by Sager.

I ended up with a Dell XPS 1530. It will get me by until I order a new D900F and then the XPS will be perfect for my wife. She's already eyeing it! I custom ordered the XPS on 3/11 and it arrived on 3/18.

My only point is it would have made a bad situation much worse for me to order a 9262 from Xotic thinking I was going to get it in about a week to 10 days.

True enough; however, since time was of the essence, you did exactly what a smart buyer is supposed to do - you double-checked the information you received before relying on it, to make sure that you would get what you needed on the time-schedule you required. The mere fact that you are a smart buyer does not, ipso facto, mean that any of the resellers involved is a negligent seller. Congrats on being such a wise purchaser; I'm sure that every seller wishes that there were more like you out there instead of the clueless wonders so many seem to have to deal with.
