I decided this weekend to update my Bios. I was running .10s and wanted to update to .18s. After downloading and going through the hoops of getting the files extracted from the image, I proceeded to perform the update. The ec.bat update file went fine to update the firmware. When I run the bios.bat file for the BIOS update, I get the following error message:

"Platform signature not found in the interface"

However I downloaded the Clevo version of .18 and it flashed just fine. (The Clevo flash has update.bat to update the BIOS)

So what is going on to get the error message?

I would prefer to use the Sager version if possible.

    Any ideas?

When the Sager .18s BIOS iso is burned to CD for installation, it uses batch file "EC" to flash the system firmware and batch file "BIOS" to flash the system BIOS. You might try BIOS instead of W.

    That's what I did.

I edited my post to show which bat files I ran.

I cannot believe nobody has seen this problem before.

I flashed my system to .18s without a problem. I ran it straight from the iso, I didn't extract the file, and it flashed just fine. Maybe try running the iso instead?

Well, I got the flash to work by just burning the iso and running it at boot up.

It sure is strange though, when I burned the iso there are no viewable files on the disk (I have show all hidden files enabled, etc.. to view everything). I also tried mounting the iso in daemon tools, again nothing. That is why I didn't try running it this weekend. Low and behold, the files are their and the bios.bat update works fine.

Still not sure why I got the error message when you extract the files and make a bootable disk.

Glad to hear you got it flashed.
