    Sager NP9262
    Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit
    NVIDIA GeForce 9800M GTX

I recently bought Sager NP9262, and all of a sudden while using Autodesk Maya 64-bit, it completely froze. I waited for about 20 min and decided to turn off the comp. Then I turned it back on.

While booting up, on the "Welcome" screen where it says "Welcome", I saw a bunch of black lines on the lower left corner, like a patch of pure black. I am not sure what is causing this. I rebooted several times, and sometimes I see this, and sometimes I do not.

I would hate to send the unit in for repair and lose shipping + time, if this is not a major problem which can be fixed by me. Please do help me to find a solution. The following is the complete list of hardware given when I ordered the computer:

Hm..... it happened when you installed Maya.

when it froze and locked up, then you kept restarting it.... have you done a CHKDSK on the HDD since I believe by doing it like that will stack up the HDD errors.

    go into Safe Mode:
    - go to START > Programs > Accesories > right-click on "Command Prompt" > choose Run as administrator
    - (in command prompt) type: CHKDSK C: /F
    - say yes and restart your system to fix the HDD errors.

Then after it restarts after the CHKDSK is complete, go into Safe Mode again.
    - uninstall Maya, and Nvidia drivers.
    - then reinstall the Nvidia drivers again.

hi chaps. it seems my beeping issue wont go away. now i just get intermittent beeps similar to a battery low beep and it goes on continuously for bout a few seconds at a time on very random occasions.

the battery is fully charged though

i have updated my bios and kbc

only way i can get rid of this noise is turn my volume down hehhe

is there any way to shut off the inbuilt speaker.??

and is there a temperature sensor in the np9262.?? although my temps are fairly good at around 61 degrees..

im am utterly befuddled as to the cause of this beeping. :(

Can you get a video of it?Some one posted one in youtube some time ago.You can see if it's the same problem. It was supposedly solved with a BIOS update.

Though probably you can mute the speaker,I would recommend to fix the problem than doing this.

yep i have read that particular thread regarding posting the youtube video. and it was exactly the same problem that i am having now ie random beeps..--- http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=253263

however i did the bios update to the latest versions --bios is 1.0.22 and KBC is 1.0.13N i believe. and the problem went away for a couple of days. and now it has resurfaced.
