I'm quite disappointed at this...
Anyone who ordered a M860TU from Eurocom after the first 100 pre-orders will have to be delayed about 2 weeks as they have ran out of stock (I ordered on Aug 9th, if that helps).
Mine will no longer arrive next monday as expected. First week of September is now the estimate (according to John).

Well that sucks for you...
actually i don't mind waiting because i have 2 more week to see if there is more problem or not ^^ -

get it from xoticpc.com or other resellers? Mine was shipped a little over one week after I ordered it.
-
I assume he is canadian? and he dont want to pay brokerage fees and all from UPS to ship this baby to canada

How do you know it is going to be both a lot cooler and same performance as the GT?
-
Yes . Essentially anyone who ordered after laptop #75 will be delayed until at least the first or second week of September. I myself was #80 (afternoon of July 18th order), and will most likely be cancelling. i talked to JShore today and he said he would do everything in his power to get it off before then but it is still first come first serve.
Our production department here at Eurocom has established the build order for the new M860TU. Because of overwhelming demand, all pre-orders (150+) are being honored first and then orders placed in queue by the order date. Unfortunately your order will not make it into the first build cycle so will be delayed until probably the first to second week of September.
I apologize for not being able to fill your order right away but because of the tremendous demand for this unit and the short supply, we are not able to fill all orders with our first delivery of units from Clevo. You will also find that other re-sellers will be running into the same issue unfortunately. Short Supply and High demand!
If this delay does not fit into your schedule please let me know and we will either cancel your order or we will see about getting you moved to a product with supplies on hand.
I apologize for this delay but there is nothing I personally can do to rectify the situation.

sorry to hear that dude, i ordered August 7. I called earlier and found out that mine is in production and will ship friday(tommorow). (Hopefully) -
If only Eurocom ordered more during the first shipment...They seemed very very overwhelmed by the demand. I've phoned many times and they were constantly complaining about how many orders of the M860TU they got.
-
I doubt if you ordered a 860TU from them in August it will be shipped out this week. -

Mausimo probably didn't order it from Eurocom
I ordered mine from Xoticpc on the 12th and it was shipped last night. -
The 9800M GT has 96 shaders.
The 9800M GTS has 64 shaders.
which translates to about 15-20% performance difference in real world gaming. -

is there a difference between GTS and GTX??? .... hm....
-
well it is at least cheaper
-
9800M GT = 96 shaders
9800M GTX = 112 shaders -
hmm...

looking at the 3dmarks of 8686 (considering the P8400 cpu), its not far from the 9300-9400 people are getting with their 9800m GT and P9500/P9600
Definitely not 15-20% -
you have to realize that you should look for the SM2.0 and SM3.0/HDR scores if you are to compare the videocards with 3DMark06.
Most reviews make the mistake of just giving the Total Score... which is fine, but not great for a good comparison.
And you should not just look at synthetic benchmarks, you should look at:
- real game benchmarks
- system specifications (CPU, RAM, OS, tweaks/optimizations, etc..) -
-
It looks like a 1fps difference and $100 in my pocket:
-
-
Please note that Notebookcheck is not always accurate... they usually have engineer samples and beta equipment to test with. .... so "grain of salt"
But I do agree the 9800M GTS is pretty bang for the buck for those that do not want the highest end stuff. -
