    UPDATE:

Ok, so I stopped the Clevo stuff (hotkey, powerbiosserver) from running at startup. Rebooted the PC.

Problems are gone! So the question is, does Clevo have a new version of their Hotkey software that.. well, works properly? :p
    -----

Hey everyone, couple of quick questions..

I put Anniversary update on recently... now that may or may not be a factor, since I use this laptop plugged in mostly and have only recently started using it unplugged (not for gaming). So, it very well could have been throttling on W10 1501...

Anyways, on battery, the processor stops @ 61%. In fact, it's locked at around 1.56GHz no matter what is happening. I used Prime95 to test that, and a few other stressing programs. Plugged in, it goes all the way up to 3.5 GHz or w/e the max is when it's rollin at full speed.

Intel Processor diagnostic passes on all tests, however, it shows the processor as being at 99.9% during testing, and Windows / CPUZ report only ~61%. So yea, Intel, you are using 100%... of my 1.56 GHz.

Power plan set to high performance, processor option in there set to 100%. Hotkey software set to maximum performance settings.

Have the latest Intel drivers, GPU drivers, etc etc. I'm not sure if I have the latest Hotkey software but I can't find a newer one that mine, which was the one for

    BIOS/EC is 501.

    There is a P650SG A Bios on Eurocom's site, that is 505... should I try to install that? (P650SG ... Anniversary ? :D )

I've tried a bunch of stuff, and no joy yet.

Anyways, if anyone has any ideas, and can answer my BIOS question just above there, any help is much appreciated.

    Cheers!

    edit:

It seems also my WiFi is being throttled.. (sits at 130Mbps.. as soon as I plug it in, it jumps to 300Mbps). I'm assuming my graphics is too :(

Is there actually a problem? I recall this being typical behavior, even outside of the W10 anniversary update; CPU downclocks on battery due to power draw at higher frequencies.

Well, I wouldn't have noticed (I don't play games on the battery anyways) except I'm doing a course which the lab part requires several VMs... you notice it then when there's a few VMs running at once... plus, I don't recall it ever throttling like this.

Eurocom emailed me back with a newer version of the Hotkey software, so I'll try that tonight

Gotcha. VM is fairly resource heavy.

Let us know how the new version works out!

Well, I got the 5.000.0.11 version of Hotkey installed...

Soon as I rebooted, the processor was locked again at 1.56 GHz, and WiFi throttled again. :(

    Open to any ideas!

This Hotkey thing is applying some kind of power settings which are overriding Windows. Strange part is, I have Hotkey set to "Performance" mode and have everything in it set to max performance... so I don't see why it is throttling me. I have also tried Hotkey's "Gaming" mode... no difference.

Does anyone know of a way to have the "hotkey" part (IE, the on screen display for Caps lock, the Fn buttons, etc) but without the power management?

If you do find a way to do that, I am interested. Control Center also throttles the Intel GPU on battery and it's a real problem when you have a 4K display to drive.

I don't have much experience with ThrottleStop, and so I'm not for certain it will fix this for you, but you can give that a shot.

Try ThrottleStop 8.20 for the CPU throttling. No guarantees it'll fix it though.

Make sure min and max processor state on battery both set to 100% in Windows. In TS, check 'Set Multiplier' and raise it as high as it goes. Make sure TS is turned on at the bottom right.

IDK about fixing the WiFi and iGPU throttling except to uninstall CCC. Too bad the headphone jack stops working when CCC is uninstalled, otherwise the only thing you lose is the OSD.

Be aware if you bypass any power protection for the battery then battery life will be reduced (as in the health of the battery).

Well, thank you for the tip for Throttle Stop... I'm going to try to solve it without 3rd party software though.

The fellow at Eurocom has been helping me, and has asked his R&D department to see what is going on. Will post any updates here !

Clevo doesn't appear to know what this means.

I don't think it's possible to solve without third party software as Clevo stopped making driver updates for this EOL model.

Well it's not really MS' fault since not just W10 is affected. CCC is to blame.

Ah,bummer. I'm going to try to find a way to disable the power profiling of Clevo hotkey, but keep the hotkey functionality. WIll post it up if I figure it out
