Hi, All
I am hesitant on dealing with a company called Eurocom based on things written in this forum. HOwever, I am desperately looking for a WUXGA (TRUE 1920x1200, not 1920x1080) 17" that's relatively light weight, and found this:
EUROCOM M7X1CUH LYNX
This Lynx weighs only 6.3 pounds, according to their website, and has available i7 processor, upto 920xm, albeit for another $973 US.
I thought they might be rebranding a clevo machine, but I called SagerPC and they don't have any such animal.
The Video seems watery, 512MB GDDR2; HD4570 ATi Mobility Radeon on-board; DX10; PCIe 16x, whereas most good video cards do 1gb.
My original posts were in search of a 15.4" WUXGA notebook, and NOONE seems to have them. However, this site also has a 15.4" WUXGA notebook.
the M860TU which seems to offer a better graphics selection but no i7 options, only "Quad Core 2 Extreme" for an extra $1200.
Question: do you have any thougts on the Lynx or Montebello? Is the video on the lynx not enough power for the screen, or does the better processor make up for the Montebello's older processor?
ALso, is there an equivalent to these pc's in another brand? It doesn't seem to be clevo.
Thanks, experts!![]()

I purchased the M860TU Montebello from Eurocom and upgraded it myself. As it is now, it's far from outdated, remaining comparable to or better than even more recent 15" laptops.

Could you please tell me what you upgraded? the CPU? what did you put in?
Thanks

Why do you have to buy from Eurocom?
They do the exact same rebranding as other resellers.
If they offer something that others don't - be careful, it might be one of those traps used to lure you into ordering from them since there's a good reason why Clevo doesn't offer certain configuration options.
<<< If you want a 1200P screen -> D900F, AW M17X, Lenovo W70xx, Dell Precision M6500 and HP 8740w. -

Here you go.
I'm sure many resellers have it. -
Aikimox you're the greatest

Anyway, dkeene, keep in mind that with that model (no matter from what reseller you buy it) you cannot upgrade the GPU and the GPU is too weak to play games, especially in 1200p. It's more of a multimedia laptop. -

There's no plot behind every option but when you offer something that Clevo doesn't - questions will be asked.
And I'm not talking about shoving a Xeon into D900F or offering Quadro FX3800M instead of GTX 285M as those are mostly supported out of the box with very minimal BIOS modding (if at all).
Things get complicated when you offer a system that isn't out yet (X7200) and while Clevo is desperately trying to fix the hardware issues in a timely manner, you offer a preorder with dual 5870's!C'mon, do you know how much more work it takes to tweak the system for a CF config? Did Clevo even test it? Do you realize, that Dell is struggling with those for many months, sweating on both hardware and software level?! Needless to say that the option suddenly disappears from your website a few days after the "advertising plot" was accomplished through all major websites, tricking many unaware customers into pulling a trigger.
Worse yet, it's not the first time you play that game.
It's more of a routine long term strategy, IMHO.
Wish I could be wrong, but there are many people here who suffered from dealing with your company.
They can tell much more about plots...
