Wait, only $80 difference between a two-slot monster and 2x980m SLI?

If that pricing is accurate, then it makes it an interesting decision to go with a 980 or 2x 980m. I'm curious to see what people would be more like to go with.

The SLI 980M will be more powerful. SLI 980M is still as powerful as a 980 Ti which is like 30-40% better then 980.

The X9 is for late December maybe even next year.
The X6 - you could have been pre-ordering it, its out in 2 weeks.
    The other one, same deal.

Just keep in mind - a desktop CPU in a laptop will not perform like it does in a desktop - you won't be able to overclock it as easily or as high.
The 6700K might not perform any better then a 4930MX will at all, whereas in theory they should be at the least, the same.

Yes, if it is accurate, there is little to no reason to go for a 980. Not all games support SLI but usually if they don't you don't need SLI either. And still not sure about VR support for 980 mobile-desktop.
Also, €800 price difference for identical 980m SLI configurations except 4810mq vs 6700k in Eurocom x8 and x9. Either it is a mistake and the pricing is not finished, or Skylake CPUs are golden at least.

I highly doubt that the 980 will be that expensive, its just how Eurocom is setting the prices.

I'm trying to decide between the X6 w/ desktop processor i7 6700k or a laptop w/ i7 6820hk. I know that the 6820hk can be overclocked, up to 4.2 ghz. How much is the performance difference?

This was also posted in the GTX 980 thread, the pricing may be accurate for Eurocom but it will definitely not be accurate for other companies.

There should be a much bigger price difference between 1x GTX 980 and SLI 980M i.e. the prices discussed in the OP for the GTX 980 will be a LOT lower from us and therefore I would expect everyone else.

More info in my posts here yesterday :)

See official P870DM thread, I confirmed that it will be available this year - end of November at the absolute latest hopefully ;-)

I'm pretty sure that my colleague posted the link to our configuration page on notebookchat a week or two ago, what's been removed?

Good question! I did't check the changes ...but IIRC there where no pictures, no 4K option and some prices where still placeholders...link just went down for a day or so.

Ah ok :) You're correct in that it wasn't the full and final product page, but it was made available by my colleague to show the options.

I was told by eurocom the shipping for Sky X6 around October 20 and the Sky X9 will start shipping around November 10. Pricing may be way off, just posting to see if i could get any clearer info, got tired of waiting and picked up a 9377 from Azeroth.

Hi, can someone tell me why there is no 980 SLI option for the X9 but only for the 980m? Two 980 (120W) should not be that problem for the cooling? I am surprised that the GT80 will/can use them but not the X9? Or is this an exclusive for MSI? They make nice notebooks but I miss an 4k option and I am still not sure if their "Superport" will be "upgraded" with a firmware update to a real Thunderbolt 3 port for future eGPU usage? And is there a reason for the AC1525 instead of the newer AC1535 (Killer) as option for the X9? PS: Sorry for all the questions but these notebooks are expensive and why should I opt for a desktop replacement and then go only half the way ;) It is a pity that I can not find a lightwight alternative 17 / 15 inch with 4k matte / min. 32GB RAM / 6700HQ+ with Thunderbolt 3 to go eGPU as a way to overcome the SLI problematic ;) The MSI GT80 has no g sync / no 4k nor Superport...

Impressive but I still prefer to configure it with dual 980M. The desktop GTX 980 is not enough to compensate for the cooler operating Dual 980M even though it technically is a better perfoming card. Looks like I may sell my Alienware 18 and Sager NP9380S to fund this BEAST.

    Hi,
I am totally new to the forum (as you may have noticed from my stats)
But i am really stoked to buy one of those x6's from eurocom and since i live in the Netherlands and i have to buy the notebook from a dutch reseller, i will have to buy it from Xnotebooks instead of one of your fancy pants resellers. :)

Anyways, my life's story aside, i am looking for a good review with at least temps, noise and ( 970m) game benchmarks covered.
Problem is... i cant find any :I

Would you guys be able to help me out here? thanks :D
(greets from a maybe future eurocom x6 owner and a dutchie + avid portable gamer)

Edit: this is all i can find that comes close to a review when i google :)

For 970m benchmarks, pretty much just look at http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-GTX-970M.126694.0.html to get an idea of what performance you will be getting. As for having to buy from an EU reseller, you could still technically buy from an NA reseller like Eurocom, most resellers offer worldwide shipping.
