I have configured my m860tu at xoticpc for $2,014.69USD + 45 CAD for the wire transfer + eventual border fee + 5 or 12% taxe (i'm still not sure how much taxe ill be charged at border)

Same thing at eurocom is 2130CAD + 5% taxe

So first of all ,can anybody confirm I'll pay only 5% taxe through xoticpc if I ship to quebec
And considering quality of service, of computer build, of warranty and the cost of shipping the notebook back to the company for repair what are the pros and the cons to go with xoticpc or eurocom

I work at Eurocom so I am a little bias... With Eurocom I can confirm you will pay $36.00 shipping plus GST (5%). If you run into any issues it a cheap shipping charge back to Ottawa for repair. We will also do our best to price match any unit you have configured elseware. I do not know if it is relevent but we also offer a 5% student discount.

I think with xotic you pay their shipping rate and 5% GST also. Depending on shipping method you will or will not pay a Brokerage fee. (ground shiping you pay, air you do not I believe).

Both places give excellence service so that should not be an issue. Eurocom services their own units. Average 2 to 3 day turn around. Not sure if Xotic does their own or ships back to Sager. Eather way it will be going to good people.

    Hope this was helpfull!

Really appreciate the answer, what site should I use to find the exchange rate from USD to CAD to know if price match would apply and is the 5% for student before or after price match

You might have just won a sale, if I decide to go with eurocom I can give your name if you wish

    For exchange rates try www.xe.com.

The 5% discount would pertain only if it is greater then the value of the price match. If 5% saves you more money, you get the 5%. If the price match saves you more money you would get it instead.

I would love to give you both but I think that might mean we loose money on the deal...lol

If you build a unit on our webste ( www.eurocom.com) or call our office you will end up dealing with me eather way as I handle all retail sales.

Any other questions pleaase let me know.

    Thanks

He's knowledgeable as well ^ ^ . Ya I was going to go with PNB until I was told about shipping fees for Canadians if the laptop ever needed to go out for repair. Also they were very helpful over the phone. Im still not fully convinced about their warranty but I have a number of days left to buy it. probably will.

edit: also that 24 hours of super low pricing helped their case
