In particular, for Sagers NP8150 (Edit: Probably NP8130 instead).
I started a thread over at Reddit trying to find good Danish or European re-sellers for the NP8150. I figured I would try my luck here too in the hopes that anyone may know.
I have checked the sticky - the Danish re-seller is only for other retailers it seems (requires a login) and the Swedish site is A) overpriced B) not customizable in the least bit.
What are my best options if I want to acquire a NP8130 (where I can customize some of the bits, ie. I would probably want the i7-2720QM 2.2Ghz, 8GB over 4GB RAM and the 2nd HDD slot left empty so I can possibly install a SSD at a later date - although I'm not sure that's even possible, but that's not really important)?
Taking into consideration both price ($300 shipping from Sagers site to Denmark) and possibly support later (large distances = bad) what would your recommendations be?
Any tips and all help is more than welcome!

I would think any of the german ones would be your best bet. Cyber-System, DevilTech, Schenker ... In Norway, there's Multicom.no, but I'm not sure if they deliver outside the country.
-
take a look at the clevo guide > http://forum.notebookreview.com/sag...-0-faq-reseller-info-read-before-posting.html
its not been updated for a while though. -
Thanks for the info so far. Multicom only ships to Norway it seems, yes.
The German retailers websites were almost exclusively only available in German which doesn't really bode well if I need to talk to them as well. One had an English version which basically translated perhaps 25% of the actual website. While my German is pretty good, I'm not feeling so safe with it.
And they were not customizable.
The more I see various websites the more I'm swayed towards having to use a NA retailer. Are any of the NA retailers better for European customers than others?
Any of the awesome retailers lurking on the forum want to give me a good deal for shipping to Denmark? Haha.

There was a Belgian guy on the forums before who found a reseller in Belgium. You could also try the UK resellers. This guy seems to have liked PCSpecialist.co.uk

There's also Clevo but that is french of course. -
Hey check out XNB Computers Danmark, high performance laptops
Specifically the XNB Destiny, which is the 8150 I guess: Gamer bærbar
I would definitely upgrade the graphics to the 6970m, at the added cost it is a steal!
There is also Nova Books - Notebooks til enhver but they only have the 8170, and it is not configurable.
I have no experience with either, but search around.
Good luck! -
Couple of things before I order later:
They offer both glossy and matte screen. Most retailers I checked required you to pay extra for the mat screen whereas it's the exact same price here.
Is matte still recommendeable over glossy even if I don't intend to use my laptop outdoors or in similar situations with bad light?
There's no risk in choosing the 6970M over the 560M, right? Sager merely removed the option because they aren't able to provide the card due to demand?
I just want to make sure that there's no other reason to avoid it. Someone said it was very fragile, but I imagine once actually installed inside the (rather robust, as far as I read) Clevo laptops that shouldn't be an issue? And no, I don't plan on throwing it around.
What I'm going for so far:
XNB Destiny SA15 - GTX560 / GTX485 / FX2800 / HD6970
15.6" Full HD (1920 x 1080), * ATI HD 6970 / 2,0GB DDR5 * DIRECT X11 *

Chills (Standard køleegenskab)
8GB DDR3-1333 ( 2 x 4GB )
500 GB 7200rpm S-ATA 16Mb cache
DVD±ReWriter

You should be good to go. The 6970M is a great card.

Some users are getting problems with the 6970M. I don't know if this is why it's being taken off Sager's website or not though. And it's stronger than the 560M, yes, but it's up to you. 485M/upcoming-580M still reigns supreme though.
-
Has there been any proof of them being less "stable" than other cards? I am getting a cooling mat or whatever you call them as well (they are so cheap and the table I'm using normally is not very good) so that should help mitigate heat issues.
Edit: Ok, another guy posted stability issues in the other thread... Getting a bit wary now. -
Normally I'd give a smug smile and say "I told you so", but, as much of an nVidia lover (not fanboy) as I am, I was being serious. Today alone I've seen four instances of people getting issues with the 6970M, just on this website. Either they released a bad batch of cards (and the only good ones are the initial buys, as it's been out for a little bit of time I think) and they had to be pulled, or the card itself has a faulty design and had to be taken off the market, and if people have a working one, they're lucky.
Someone in the x7200 benchmarking thread posted multiple issues with them in crossfire, and said he's changing to the 485Ms. Two others have issues with it in their P150HMs. Not knowing how warrantys and all are with who you're buying from/where you're buying, I'd suggest you go with a safe bet, rather than be out of a laptop for a while as it RMAs (not to mention the time it takes to buy/build/ship to you then have you customize it as you please).
In my opinion, AMD's 6000M lineup is entirely in response to nVidia's GTX 400M series smoking their 5000M series. nVidia is now further refining those series with the GTX 500M series. Might just be the 6970M just wasn't ready for release, but was pushed out to contend with their 485M giant, and the effects are now being witnessed. -
Choose the matte screen if you can get it. It's not just better because it is matte, it is a better screen in all sorts of ways. Anandtech liked the matte screen very much, and rated it to be as good as the R-BG LED 1920x1080 screen Dell offers on some of their laptops - and that is considered to be one of the very best TN panels you can get, on any laptop.
-
I think I'll be going for the 6970 and if all hell breaks loose I'll downgrade to a 560M. With the 6970M being less than 100$ more than a 560M from this retailer I might as well give it a go. -
Talking about danish resellers, you should definately check out mm-vision:
http://www.mm-vision.dk/produkter/visgruppe_notebook.asp?action=shop&menu=notebook&gruppe=PcnoteVision&type=notevision
Thats where I got my p150hm. Sure you don't get the same options as with XNB (no matte screen), and the Realtek wifi is a pain under Ubuntu. But you do get good value for money, better than XNB I think.
Service is OK too. Had it RMA'ed because of a some random freezes, delivered it friday got it back tuesday the next week.
Good luck!

That settles that then. You are an absolute champ, ferrum - I would never have found that one. It's really tough to search for re-sellers because they rarely mention that it's built on the barebones of Clevo models so there's nothing you really can search for.
I'll give up the matte screen in order to use a company that I am much more safe with.
You got the 6970M version of the P150HM as well, I guess? Has it served you well so far? -
True, it's a reseller jungle out there.
My 6970m has served me very well so far (since mid april), I have had no GPU instability issues whatsoever, it just rocks!
The reason for my hardware freezes was a faulty CPU, guess someone forgot to wear an anti static wristband at the assembly line, I dunno. Anyway, since the RMA I haven't had a single freeze or BSOD.
As for glossy/matte I wouldn't argue against personal taste. I find the glossy screen very nice, very crisp and clear, the matte option has to be awesome to beat the glossy!

Pretty old thread, but in case someone was intrested:
