I'm going to buy a M860tu and was interested in eurocom since im in Canada and US dollar is so frickin' high. I heard that they had good customer service and that they bargain, price-match and all. When I've sent them an email asking if the price is negociable with the specs I'm looking to get they sent an email saying that they thank me and would see what they can do about the price.
But they haven't sent me an email back and I've sent them 2 more emails(at about a week and a half one after the other) and they didn't response (actually one of them was directly to the vendor and he said he was home sick and that he would give me a price soon).
Now it has been about 4 weeks since the first email and it looks like they just don't wanna sell me a laptop..
Did anyone have issues with eurocom service? (I was polite in every email no fuss whatsoever)

Please tell me you tried calling before you posted this

I bought from Eurocom and only have great things to say. You will be well taken care of.

Oh my god! I'm getting the same service from them as well. I've emailed and also gone into the shop in Ottawa to look at the laptop I'm thinking of getting (M762TU or M765TU). I also got the "I've been sick" story. They also told me that the laptops had been ordered and were on their way. That was 3 weeks ago. Still waiting. I might just get it from Xotic instead. I also would prefer to purchase "Canadian" and from my home town as well, but they are making it difficult. Don't they want my money??? lol

Eurocom actually has me confused. They seem almost bipolar at times. You get excellent, quick responses, or they seem to forget about you.
On the bright side, if you do call, they tend to respond well. -
I have had no problem with there service, my email never took more than a day to be answered, they sent me a new hard-drive when I told them that mine was overheating without arguing. Although they did bull me during about 3 weeks about my laptop being ready to ship tomorrow. I would not have cared if they told me my laptop was going to ship in 3 weeks but no they kept insuring me that my laptop was going to ship tomorrow. I can understand why they did this but it kinda shows they have a money oriented philosophy rather than a people oriented philosophy

I bought from Eurocom. I've never had an issue, though my laptop has never had any problems so I havent had to contact them more than the initial purchase.

Ask to speak with John Shore, he helped me out a ton.
-
That's who I've been dealing with. Very friendly in person, not very effective via email. Going to give him a ring today to see what's up with my purchase.
I bought from them 10 years ago (yes, 10 years ago!!!) and didn't regret it then. Just want to get this new laptop home asap. Wish they'd sort themselves out already. -
I hate john shore with all my heart. Buy from XoticPC or Powernotebook!!!!!!!

First thing you guys need to understand is I do not control ETA's. I am told the ETA and then sometimes those ETA change or are delayed. Sometimes Customs gets involved and they delay the arrival, sometimes shipping is delayed as allot of our shipments come overseas via ship. Hence the Expected Time of Arrival not Time of Arrival. I am sorry this makes it difficult at times but it is not something that I can control. Even e-mailing daily or phoning me every day will not speed up the process. These ETA changes are very frustrating to me as I don't like giving out bad information but there is not much more I can do. If I say to you I don't know the ETA I just get endless calls and e-mails asking if I have an ETA yet.
I have had 2 days off sick in a year and I come on here and people are upset about that??? I will endeavor not to get the flu again this year!
I am happy to see I have had an influence on Nirvana's life! Gladdens my heart!
No the M765's are not here yet. New ETA is mid next week. If this is too late for you I apologize and wish you good luck on your purchase.
Thanks -
Woah there, calm down John. No one is attacking you, well, except Nirvana. Get better soon.
Most of the posters here are in fact encouraging the OP to stick with Eurocom. -
Woa.. lots of mixed opinions out here..
I see people have either really great experience or bad experience with eurocom..
Don't mind about Nirvana JShore, alot of people recommended your good service.
I will try calling Eurocom but calling this far costs far more than simple emails. :/ -
-
Appart from ocassional exagerations, I`ve only heard good things about Eurocom, which is even more popular in Europe than Sager in some areas...
-
It's a really cheap way of calling overseas. It's what I do. -
OP is asking for personal experiences. And I only allow to say good things here? -

Three reason really..
First is the Canadian Dollar. When the US and Canadian dollars where at par our prices where pretty much in line with the US prices. Right now it costs us $.25 on the dollar to purchase shells. Thats $250.00 per $1000.00 which adds up quickly.
Second is the increased shipping costs to Canada. Plain and simple it costs us more to buy the shells from Clevo because of shipping.
Third is staffing. We actually assemble and support all of our units here in Ottawa. We don't just forward units assembled and supported by a 3rd company. Also I a sure you have noticed that Eurocom seems to come out with the upgrades like Quad Core and 8 GB or RAM faster then most others. That is because we employ an R&D staff to work on those projects.
All of this adds up. We think we make up for it with great support and assembly!
Hope this all makes sense to you. Any questions please let me know.
Thanks -
