    Hello !

Yesterday a huge deluge fell from the sky and teamed up with the wind they actually by passed my window water security and splashed my laptop.
Now keys are not working. Amongs others the number 1. so now I cannot do Fn + 1 (to get the fan working) . which is a problem considering this get pretty hot.

SO I'm wondering. anyone knows if the fn key on a USB keyboard will do the just fine ?
    ;)

    simple question.
    thank you anyone knowledgeable !

Unfortunately the fn key cannot be faked as it is hardcoded into the keyboard controller in the laptop.

Is the keyboard controller on the motherboard or on the keyboard package?

If the controller is packaged with the keyboard itself you can buy a used keyboard and see if it solves your problem.
You can even swap a M570RU keyboard, they are compatible. D900T/K keyboards are different and cannot be used in M570RU/D90xC which make me hope there is such a chance that the controller may not be on the motherboard.

The KBC is on the mobo, but it is probably the keyboard that is dead, so a new keyboard will likely fix the issue.

Many people who have spilled stuff on their keyboards have had key failures and have had new keyboards fix all issues.
