I currently trying to get a sager machine this summer (9130 or 9150)...I wanted to know if anyone had the game and the fps on the game. The game is a gpu hog and also want to know your current configuration for your machine (specs and GPU)..Thank you and have a great day.

p.s. I currently have a Y470 with GT 550M that can handle most modern game with medium to high settings but Witcher 2 is only playable on low for my machine (20-27 fps with the lowest settings possible...

Don't even worry about it... It'll most likely be very playable maxxed out w/o AA. :)

I promised to run that, just haven't had a chance, but I can't see why it wouldn't manage it just fine at 1366x768 as stated.

I am getting about 30 FPS outdoors using my 485m with the attached graphics configuration. Screenshot included where I was getting 28-30FPS. A few of those options like bloom and motion blur were not turned off for performance reasons, but because I actually just did not like how they looked. Game is very playable with current high end GPUs.

I don't own Witcher 2, but I know that it is either poorly optimized or has some pretty rough requirements.

On max settings, the only mobile card that can handle it is a 7970M, and even this has Frame Rates dipping below 32.

Make sure Vsync is off. This is only advisable if you're exceeding 60 FPS (The refresh rate of your screen) or 120 FPS for those few that have 3D displays.

I'll be sure to test this game, among others when my Sager NP9150 arrives. :)

Ubersampling is the only problem for this game. It will chew and spit out desktop cards, even the new ones, if you turn it on.

OP: Here is a guide on how to get a good setting: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=28106991&postcount=2825

if you turn off the uber sampling it runs very smoothly with a 6970M with almost everything maxed out

It is not poorly optimized. It runs very well on a wide range of computers and looks beautiful on all of them. It's just that the highest settings can take a toll (see: ubersampling).

I can run it with everything on ultra (except for ubersampling) at 1600x900 and it is buttersmooth on my 6990m (around 50 fps. no fps dips either). I've looked at screenshots also comparing it with and without ubersampling and it doesn't make much of a difference.

Basically just turn ubersampling off and you'll be perfectly fine.

Seconded. So, is "new desktop cards" including SLI/CFX or is it single card only?

I believe ubersampling was meant for multi-GPU configurations...

If it's meant for multiple GPU's, why is everyone turning it on with these single-GPU machines?

Which is exactly why the game won't push good frame rates... I remember reading up on ubersampling when I first tried it in my system and got pwned!
