Has anyone had issues getting Fallout 3 to run on a 9262 running Windows XP with 8800GTX SLI? I keep getting "Failed to initialize renderer. Your display doesn't support the selected resolution. Please set a different resolution in Fallout 3's Launcher under 'Display Settings'."
I get this error both with the original and patched version.
I've got the latest DirectX 9, I've tried 17595, 17928 (currently installed), 18120 and 18070 in all normal resolutions with and without SLI with no success.

    Any help or information appreciated!

Try Dox's 181.22 v1.1, see if that helps you.

I only have 1x 8800M GTX, and Fallout 3 gives me 0 problems (181.22 driver). Not sure what could be happening on your end.

karlfs99 get EVGA SLI Enhancement Patch from EVGA site + 182.05 Dox Optimized driver from laptopvideo2go the patch is made for this driver and Fallout3 runs very good with it
be sure that you have lasted DirectX installed
no matter the is legit or not

Fallout 3 was flawless for me with the 179.28 driver.

It is a purchased legal copy of the game and I will try the recommendations above. Thanks for the assistance! I will post later with results.

182.05 Dox version makes no difference. I uninstalled Fallout3, reinstalled and applied the 1.1.0.35 patch. I installed 182.05 using the instructions on laptopvideo2go.

BTW, I have been exchanging emails with Bethsoft support for the past 6 weeks without success. Always the exact same error message no matter what the driver version. I've changed drivers, removed all startup items, reinstalled directx and tried most of the standard resolutions.

I will try 181.22 and see what happens. Are there other display related drivers that might need changing?

Full error: 'Failed to initialize renderer. Your display doesn't support the selected resolution. Please set a different resolution in Fallout 3's Launcher under 'Display Settings'.'

    I appreciate the assistance!
