I've been doing a little browsing and decided to see what firmware i had. I know people are going to say that i am mixing up the KBC fan firmware with the BIOS, but on the detailed bootup screen (POST 1) I have 2 lines BIOS Version 1.00.08s, and KBC Version which also says 1.00.08s.. I am confused i thought .07sh was the latest version? Is this something that just hasn't been released to the public or is something messed up?

    Here is a picture.
    Yes i can use Fn+1 and Fn+3. Fn+3 is medium Fn+1 High/Auto
The auto seems to be a lot quieter than the medium. Although the auto seems to ramp. I could be reading this page right now it would be dead silent then all of a sudden the fan will gain speed 5 seconds later go back down. Does this every minute on auto.

As Nirvana said, can you get medium fan speed with FN+3 and max fan speed with FN+1 ?

You may have the latest firmwares, but they`re not the best.

(first post from the US -now hitting the sack, dead tired)

Yes i can get Medium Fan speed with Fn+3, and Hurricane Fan Speed with Fn+1. Seems like Fn+3 medium is louder than auto when its not ramping. With the .07sh does the auto mode stay on 1 consistent speed while doing things like browsing net, word. Or does it also ramp up every minute or two for about 10 seconds? Just afraid to change to .07sh and find out its worse and not be able to flash back to .08s

I have gone back and forth between fan versions .07sh and version .08 with no problems. Fan bios .07sh requires a CD to install after a reboot and .08 installs either from DOS or Windows (it's late and I forget which way it is at the moment).

Currently, I went back to .07sh as I found it better/smoother for my use than .08.

07sh is the one most people use.
It keeps the fans at a constant speed up until 80C or something.
But my system idles at 30-33C for the CPU and GPU at around 34-35C in XP.

it below in my sig. that will only work if you can extract the files though. with the fan frmware it is a iso. it usually is easier to burn them to disc and make that disk bootable while doing that

if it is a iso it has to be extracted. i bleieve the sager fan firmware can not be extracted like normal so you may have to use a cd

I have a question....Can i just install the kbc/ec firmware without flashing(or whatever you call it) the bios ?

And can i revert back to original fan firmware without any problems if i don't like the 07Sh firmware?

When you install the KBC firmware, you`re not dealing with BIOS updating. SO YES Nirvana, he can.
It`s as easy as burning to iso to disk, rebooting with the cd/dvd inside, follow instructions, listen to beep,reboot/or force shutdown and that`s it.

Just flash back to any firmware if the current one is not for your liking.
