So my fan is broken and I wanted a replacement, Now i went to the junkyard and found myself another fan, I could easily mount it in my case, but there is one thing that bothers me.

The Original Fan is a 5v 0.5amp fan, while the other is a 5v 0.6amp. I've read that normally the fan connectors are rated for 1amp, which shouldn't be a problem, but I don't know what the P157SM connector is rated, if it's only a 0.5 amp slot I might fry my board.

That's why I'm asking if anyone knows what the conenctor is rated at.

... we're talking milliamps/less than a Watt, its not enough to kill anything.

It's a 20% uptick on the expected but it should be ok.

According to a lot of sources and most if not all desktop mainboards you can use up to 1amp without anything happening, but after that it gets dicey. That's why I asked if it's different for notebooks, but when I look at how the stock fan always use 0.5amp, I think that it's very likely also a 1amp connector.

Could you check it out in some way?

Notebooks are always different to desktop in terms of specs, that port was designed for the included fan in terms of connector and power delivery/fan tables.
