So far on two different occasions I was unable to install Far Cry. I get some error message -1603 and it tells me I cannot install the game. I googled error -1603 and it says it is some kind of windows installer error. However, I do not think this is a Vista issue, as many people with the problem are also running XP_64...maybe it is just a 64 bit issue?
Not sure how to proceed...

You have to make sure of a couple of things:
- disable the dumb UAC
- make sure you have admin privileges
I have seen people play the 1.4 patch version in 32-bit mode. -
I'm playing it in Vista64 (just finished playing, actually). Works fine. However, apparently the original release came with installers for both the 32 and 64 bit versions. I have the rerelease of the game, and for some reason they took out the 64 bit installer. In order to play it, I had to install it on my my 32bit XP computer and transfer the program files over to my laptop. Works fine now though =)
