Hello all - I'm hoping to get some expert feedback on a new laptop build I'm considering with HIDEvolution. The specs are below and the main purpose of the laptop will be to run the latest games butter smooth on the highest settings for the next 3 to 4 years.

Of almost equal importance is keeping the fan noise to a minimum.. which is one of the reasons I am going with such high performance, at least in the short term, I'm hoping that the load will be so minimal that the temps (and thus the fans) will stay low.

Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks in advance

Aside from an undervolt and liquid metal you can remove some of the mesh from the bottom panel to allow the fans more room to breathe. Using a good cooling pad will help keep the temps down too (and fan noise).

@Mr. Fox @Papusan @Dr. AMK and other P870 owners may be able to tell you more about the fan noise.

Having just gone through the purchase process myself, I would HIGHLY recommend upgrading the 3 options in red, above.

    1. While 1080P is still ok today, I chose the 3k "1.4" version screen since it offers some future-proofing and has a fantastic picture. It doesn't have G-Sync but does offer 120Hz and doesn't suffer from the banding problem that the "1.0" screen has (apparently shows these bands when looking up close at the screen).
    2. Get the best processor you can afford here, which means one of the lottery chips. It will run cooler and you said fan noise is important, plus with a custom undervolt you may be able to overclock further and still stay very cool
    3. Upgrade to Windows 10 Pro as it offers better control over when and how Windows updates are applied. I'm pretty sure Win 10 Home forces updates as soon as they come out and if they are buggy you are stuck with it until the next patch comes

These are my un-expert suggestions. :)

Consider the 4K if you will use an external 4k monitor.

Take the DDR4/3000MHz or 3200MHz, you can ask them for that in the comments section.

Go for Samsung m.2 960 pro

Don't use any mechanical HDD, replace with SSD if you can,

Get the new Intel 9260NGW NGFF Dual Band 802.11ac WiFi Bluetooth 5.0 Wireless Card

Ask them to install the Windows Pro without license key, and get your own key with lower price from the Internet.

A good Cooling pad is a must, you can get nice custom one from the links below:

FYI - I ended up going with HIDEvolution. Don S. offered some suggestions as well and I felt comfortable that they would take good care of me.

All of your suggestions were helpful and appreciated. Thanks!
