Maybe this is not thread worthy but I just thought about this. Every time I read something on Engadget about computers it's either not complete, or not showing all aspects of the topic(which means incomplete lol)
But Engadget is still a good site to read...

Isn't engadget a pretty mainstream site? They're pretty much just like a step up over a noob site like CNET.com.

They are under the influence of Emperor Steve Jobs... their knowledge goes as far as Steve Jobs allows it to.
Going over that, yes they are not very good but at least they give you some basic info which is enough to get your attention. If you want more details just google it. I regularly check Engadget and I think they are a decent blog/site. -
They are not really Apple's fans; I guess they cover a range of topics so wide that they can't specialize in all of them

What are some good sites to get computer/laptop information/news?

they have good pictures but I ignore the articles

Engadget isn't so much a news site as a site that gathers the news they find interesting from other news sites and directs you to that story. They do write their own original articles but the majority of their stuff is just short opinion blurbs and a source link.
By bringing attention to, and making it easier for readers to find, interesting articles, Engadget does serve a worthwhile function. Fudzilla would be another example of a middleman-type news site....although Fuad is much heavier on the personal opinions.
Feels like Engadget is not very good at computers...
