    Hi there!

I have been reading a bit on the forum lately and I'm getting more and more interested in the sager laptop....

I'm not an actual owner but, I'm looking at the p870dm-G with a 980m and I have a i7-7700k with some ddr 4 memory at the home. I have no experience with upgradable laptop so I got a few question to understand a bit more how it works...

I've seen that some have been able to upgrade to a gtx 1070/1080 with some modding (I can do that without problem) but I'm not able to code or to customize the bios to make them work (I can overclock and do some basics tricks but that's all). Would that be a problem if I want to upgrade later? And do you think that the next GPU nvidia will be compatible (Or is it a surprise at each new series?)

Same with the cpu, I've seen some place talking about compatibility with the 7700k but there wasn't a lot of info, isn't it the same socket? Is it feasible to upgrade somethign to be able to use it?

And when the socket will change would there be a probability to upgrade the motherboard to get the new socket or it will be just change the complete laptop?

    Thanks for your reply!
    Fred

may be you need a new bios for i7-7700k but I don't know if ut is available

you can certainly upgrade that gtx980m with a msi gtx1060 or msi gtx1070, may be with a msi gtx1080 atm

Sit tight. Brother @fox is doing DM1 users a solid and attempting to get a 1080 to play ball. It's likely more involved than a 1060 but still... if it works it will be a massive win.
