I wish they would standardized RF remotes already for TV Tuners in notebooks.... IR sucks because you have to hit the IR port exactly to use it well.
When my notebook is at a tilt with my cooler, the IR port is slanted down more (from the front) so it gets harder to use the remote unless if I angle it correctly.

nirvana stop being a jerk if you dont like me then dont talk to me ok.
-
LOL. calm down folks.
this is an easy going forum. -
i understand that but nirvana insists on stalking me while im trying to learn about computers.
-
want to learn computer?
-
Come on, guys, let's stop the infighting and calm down.
oicwutudidthar, it would be beneficial to you as well as the rest of the forum members to try and learn yourself, as well. There are tons of resources on the net and a lot of the questions you have can easily be answered by a simple Google search. Try it, you'll benefit from the research, instead of just asking and waiting for replies.
-
oicwutu.. sorry I can`t type it, I have jivvery digits lol.
Dude, learn how to ask a question properly and completely, and you`ll get all the answers you want. But make it clear and concise, half the time I have a hard time understanding what you want to know. -
sorry i have adapted to the msn slang language and im trying to get my typing skills back to were they used to be. Here are questions I need to be answered. I no I have asked them before but they were always answered in an indirect way.
1. Should i get the creative express slot external sound card? or the internal?
2. Wut raid is the best for my harddrive setup? -
1) there is no internal soundcard
2) depends on your purposes -
1) there is the X-Fi expresscard that would be nice for games with the EAX 5.0
2) up to you, remember that RAID-0 is only good for performance, but losing one drive will make you lose data on both.... while RAID-1 will be slightly slower, but create a redundancy for both drives -
1) get the Creative Xi fi or the Creative USB sound card, the onboard sound card cannot even touch the performance and sound of the above mentioned
2)Raid 0 =fastest and least reliable : if one drive fails, the whole array fails
Raid 1=safest -> the information is written onto both the drives,so if 1 fails, the other still retains the data
There is also RAID 5, which needs 3 disks and acts nice under specific situations(simultaneous reads etc) but I`m not sure it`s possible on the D901C. -
raid 5 is possible

I just had this weird moment of clarity: I totally forgot about setting up my Moto Q9h as a BT remote for windows Vista! OMG. I will post results later.

Dude, stop writing in MSN or yahoo messenger or mirc style,it`s really annoying.
-
Yes, please. You are here asking people for help, at least make it easier for them.
-
is raid 5 the best
-
It still depends if you want the RAID.
You can just use single drives w/o RAID.... which some like better. -
I would like my system to be the fastest possible plz base your statements off that instead of constantly saying -Well it depends on what you want- Because i obviously don`t no what i want. SO maybe if you stopped giving me indirect answers maybe i wouldn't ask so many questions
-
i just want to freakin no what raid is the best in a three hd configuration
-
there is no best raid, but one that fits your need the best.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Standard_RAID_levels -
People have TOLD you, but you're not satisfied.
RAID 0 = Faster, but less secure
RAID 1 = More secure, but slower
RAID 5 = the middle ground.
Whether you want us to say it or not, IT DEPENDS ON WHAT YOU WANT.
If you want raw speed, don't RAID configure them at all. Just have them as separate drives, working independantly.
Read Nirvana's Wiki link if you want to know more.
Above all - do some reaearch, man! The info is out there - don't be spoiled and expect everyone else to go look it up for you. This is what got all your threads deleted over on the Alienware forums, by the way... maybe you need to learn something?! -
I say that he has at least 5 topics on the matter. This one should be closed because it`s starting to annoy everyone.
There is a section called where to buy,he made 2 topic there already. -
The mods closed and deleted all his threads over there, now he's over here pulling the same thing. Gonna get himself banned. -
I'm done here, nothing polite left to say.
Chris. -
but raid 0 if raid 9 is the fastest why would i get no raid o.o
-
All questions end with "?" .
God,does anybody know how to change a diaper?
Dude, whichever you want, you can later change it if you don`t like it.
No go back to school -
Ffs I Just Want To No How To Get The Fastest Speed Out Of My Hard Drive Stop Insulting Me
-
I second that this thread gets closed pls........

omg u guys are complete jerks honestly im reporting this forum. all you guys do is insult me for being able to afford a computer. then when i try to ask question u give stupid remarks such as go to google noob. maybe im not great at computers, but the reason i came here was to get a good computer with high end specs so i can go to lan partys and use it for highschool. Honestly your suppose to help noobs on here and tell them n what is wut. All you do is bash me.
-
Helping people isn't making decisions for them. It is showing them how to use their own brains to make intelligent decisions for themselves. Every answer you want is in these forums already, or can be found in Google in a matter of minutes. Do a little research FIRST, then ask intelligent questions in a respectful manner. That advice doesn't constitute "bashing", and only seems to you like bashing because you've been spoiled and had everything handed to you on a silver platter all your life.
As far as your HDDs go, the bottom line is really that the kinds of differences you're talking about (which RAID solution, what speed drive, etc...) are NOT going to make a big enough difference in speed for you to even notice. They CERTAINLY are not going to make a big enough difference in speed to warrant the AMOUNT OF TIME AND WRITING YOU ARE PUTTING INTO THESE POSTS.
Just choose something. Guess what? Your computer isn't going to be perfect, because there are no perfect computers. But it will be fantastic, and you'll love it unless you destroy your enjoyment of it with all this OCD.
So yes, please, PLEASE report these posts and threads, and watch what happens. No one called you a noob. But you did get two threads closed for doing that in the Alienware forums, didn't you? Let's not be hypocritical here. Telling you to go to Google isn't an insult, it's asking you to stop taking advantage of everyone's expertise here as an excuse for your laziness. -
1. RAID-0 7200rpm (2 drives)
2. RAID-0 5400rpm (2 drives)
3. RAID-5 7200rpm (3 drives)
4. single 7200rpm (1 drive)
5. RAID-5 5400rpm (3 drives)
6. single 5400rpm (1 drive)
EDIT: the fastest, if you have the cash, are SSDs.
Honestly, if you want the fastest, if its by a small margin, just get the 7200rpm drives.
Just remember that the RPMs mainly affect the load times...not the overall performance during games and applications -
have I not told you since day 1 that samsung 256GB SSD is the fastest?
-
-
I`m hoping a mod can take care of this fast before more users get disturbed.
-
Thread closed since its getting out of hand.
We are not here to spoon feed you the answers. Your questions are basic and have been answered at least a million times or so...if you do a simple search with Google, you will find the answers. These people are trying to help you but you have to help yourself first.
